An invasive griffin

“I was out hunting to supply the butcher with fresh game a few days ago. While I was hunting, I noticed some things that should not have been in this neck of the woods.”

Marius kept his brow raised. Hunters are typically well in tuned with the wilderness about them. If something seemed off to the hunter, it was worth listening to.

“Feathers, massive fucking things. Along with some very nasty and messy kills, like maulings mixed with **** eating.”

Yeah, that is rather strange. Nothing like that should be common in this part of the forest. The Rune Blade kept quiet to hear more.

“While I was doin’ some investigations of me own, I had found the culprit...or more like it found me. Damn blightin’ bastard took my hunting dog with him, right into the sky.”

“Must have been one massive bird. Most hunting dogs are on the larger side.” Marius was trying to put the pieces together. There were many massive bird-like creatures in Everlight Forest.

The hunter scoffed, “ Bird, nothing! ‘Twas a griffin that took me hound, and did all the killing. Saw it with me own eyes.”

Marius was stupefied at that and could only respond with, “You’re kidding?”

The hunter only shook his head, “ Nye. But ye look capable enough. And that’s the only way I will give you the information you’re lookin’ for. Kill the griffin and I’ll talk. Damn thing doesn’t belong here and is already spooking the game. Plus, the last kills I saw were getting too close to our pastures...only a matter of time before it hunts our livestock.”
