An impromptu game of fetch

To be fair to Ammy, she was behaving as well as she could be expected to, in a strange convention hall crowded with unfamiliar people. It probably took everything the little dog had to just sit there whining instead of throwing a fit. Terri, meanwhile, had the stress of watching the poor dog alleviated a bit by the people who would pass by to look at the costumed canine. They'd compliment Ammy, Terri would explain she was only watching her, they'd compliment Terri's costume.... a little repetitive sure, but it was nice to chat with people, and see more interesting costumes.

And then came a Zenyatta, drawn in by the doggie, and by someone else dressed as an Overwatch character.

"Oh, wow!" Terri said, amazed at the Zenyatta's display. "Good on you!" His costume was a little cheap looking, with lots of gaps in the plastic "metal" plating of the robot's body, but the skill he lacked in costume making, he clearly made up for in dexterity, as the Omnic cosplayer was juggling a number of the orbs the character used as projectiles in game.

"My thanks," he said, "May peace be upon you." He drawled his lines on in an airy tone, over-exaggerating even as his mask muffled his voice. Still, it worked; it was goofy in a cute kind of way, and fit the character. In this time, neither of them noticed Ammy perking up alongside her sitter, the anxious canine's eyes following the fast, round, perfectly tennis ball sized objects being circled through the air in front of her.

"Mind if I get a quick video, love?" Terri said, pulling out her phone. The Zenyatta nodded his permission and, gathering the five orbs together in two hands, waited for her to start recording before picking his juggling back off. Except then, he made a mistake. Maybe stopping for her to start the video through off the rhythm he had built. Maybe he was just a bit camera shy. Either way, one orb came down slightly off of where Zen thought it was going to be, and when it hit the side of his hand instead of landing in his fingers, it went bouncing across the convention hall. The dog, who had been watching tensely that whole time, didn't hesitate, and shot off after it, her leash slipping from Terri's hand.

"Oh, shi- uh, drat!" Terri said, and not waiting a second, dashed off after her charge. She winced, feeling thread popping between her legs from Ammy's earlier transgression, but she wasn't about to let the dog get loose on its own, nor was she about to lose a stranger's dog! Besides, it couldn't be that bad of a tear at this point, right?

Well, as Terri caught up to the snow white dog, having kept her eyes on the bright red markings the whole chase, she wasn't too thrilled to find...
