What are they dealing with now?
An ancient lich.
Stepping out of the shadows was a hooded skeleton. "My my, it's been such a long time since I've had visitors," the undead being remarked.
"Lich!" Aqua shouted as the rest of the party also geared up to fight.
'Eh? This guy's a lich?' Kazuma thought. 'He looks NOTHING like Wiz... Don't tell me she's going to end up looking like that... Not if me and my Sex Note have anything to say about it...'
"Wait wait, I'm not here to catch you and eat any of you, or anything else hostile," the lich raised a skeletal hand placatingly, before turning and opening a hidden door, revealing a hidden chamber with some treasure, a chair, and a bed that had another skeleton, this one actually doing what skeletons were supposed to, that being absolutely nothing, laying in the bed. The lich walked back into the room, and sat in the chair next to the bed.
The party glanced around at each other, before cautiously following, wary of any traps, and suspicious of the lich before them. "I am Khiel," the lich then spoke. "The "evil" Arch Wizard who absconded with that noblewoman and created this dungeon..."
"Wait, so you're THE Khiel!?" Kazuma asked in amazement.
"Ah yes, so you've heard of me..." Khiel chuckled. "That does make sense... I suppose that for better or for worse, I AM rather famous..." He turned to the prone skeleton on the bed, and continued, "I had... Intended to rest beside my beloved until I turned to dust... But I sensed an incredible holy power, and stirred from my slumber..."
"...that explains why no one encountered you before, yet we are now..." Cremea noted.
"So... In the tale, it was said that you were offered a boon from the king... What did you ask him for?" Kazuma asked, though he had an idea already.
"Ah, you've heard of that detail as well," Khiel remarked. "Yes, I did have one wish that had not come true. That my beloved, who had been oppressed by the royal family, be happy. And with those words, I absconded with her!" he laughed heartily at that.
"...he didn't grant your request did he, resulting in the absconded part huh?" Taylor asked, his own curiosity piqued.
"No, no he did not," Khiel replied. "She had been married off to the royal family by her own parents, a loveless marriage purely for status. And she had not been treated well. I told the royal family that if they didn't want her, they should just give her to me. When I proposed to her, she immediately accepted, and we eloped, and I got in a firefight with the royal army along the way! What fun that was! Although sadly, I had to resort to turning myself into a lich to have the power to succeed in the endeavor..."
"...not quite what I imagined," Kazuma remarked, getting nods of agreement from the rest of the group.
"Now... If I may make a request of you?" Khiel then asked.
