The book is dusty and bound in brittle discolored leather.

You reach out to touch it.

“No, don’t.”

Celeste pushes your hand away.

“What is it?”

“It’s simply called The Forbidden Tome. It is a compendium of any ideas or inventions the church found dangerous. There are things inside here that are said to be able to drive people mad. Much of the book is probably bunk, but some is real. I believe Farrasett used the book to help him build the array.”

“What can we do with it?”

“I believe there is a way to banish or destroy the vampires. But, there will almost certainly be a price. Leave me, let me read the book.”
