Amestris (Fullmetal Alchemist)

The proud nation of Amestris, bordering Creta to the West, Aerugo to the South, Drachma to the North, and the small territory of Ishval to its East. Beyond that, a vast desert, where the ruins of the cursed nation of Xerxes lay and, beyond even that was the large Eastern country of Xing. In comparison to its neighbours, Amestris is far more advanced, having developed a mighty military **** and alchemical progress over the span of its great and bloodied history. As ashamed as even some proud Amestrians may be to admit it, their country's name is almost synonymous with WAR, certainly after the abolition of the Amestrian democratic government in favour of a a militarized dictatorship, with Fuhrer King Bradley being the latest and most ruthless of these heads of office.

However, that was just scratching the surface, as, underneath everyone's nose, a devastating plot was being enacted by creatures called the Homunculi. Beings so like humans but were anything but. Cruel manifestations of sin: Envy, Lust, Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Pride, Wrath, led by their powerful Father, who sits below the country, waiting for his Promised Day.

Amestris is split into five 'Areas'. East, North, South, West and, of course, Central, where the nation's capital - Central City - stood.

To the North is the Wall of Briggs, run by Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong.

To the South is Dublith, where Izumi Curtis (the soon to be candidate for sacrifice) lays in bed, resting after a dizzy spell brought on by her sickness.

To the West... isn't really anything of interest, to be honest.

Although, to the East lays Eastern Command, where Colonel Roy Mustang and his crew - including Riza Hawkeye - are currently stationed. Also, the city of Liore, Yooswell and, of course, Resembool, the small farming town where the youngest state alchemist in the country - the 'Fullmetal' Alchemist: Edward Elric - "grew up", along with his younger brother Alphonse Elric and their mother Trisha Elric, once upon a time. Also living in Resembool at this moment is Winry Rockbell, Edward's automail mechanic.

At this time, travellers on a quest from Xing are making their way across the desert. Two groups. One being the 12th Prince Ling Yao and his body guards Fu and Lan Fan. The other is Mei Chang and her adorable panda sidekick Xiao Mei.

So where and WHEN (pick any time in the series. It doesn't have to be the one I've described here) does this book fall into this reality and, perhaps more importantly, which of these characters (or any characters not mentioned here) will be the one to discover it and its infinite cosmic power?
