Chapter 26 by DubiousSintax
Who does Lisa encounter?
Alma Morgan
As Lisa passed the hotel she spotted the bulky frame of Alma sweeping down the large porch that ringed the building. The old woman was puffing and panting, her thin dress clinging to her wetly with what Lisa hoped was only sweat. Alma stopped when she spied Lisa, leaning upon her broom as she called out. "Hey there missy. Ain't seen ya in a few... thought you done skipped town. Where ya been hidin?"
Lisa waved to Alma and diverted her path, walking over to the woman and stepping under the shade of the porch, out of the increasingly hot sun. "Hi uhh, Alma, was it?" Lisa greeted the old woman. "Yes I have been busy helping Harry with a few things. He's given me a place to stay."
Alma's gaze drifted over towards the gun shop, her fat, slimy tongue protruding from her mouth to wet her wide lips before darting back inside. "Helping Harry is it?" she turned back to Lisa, a wicked gleam in her eyes as she looked the young woman over, noting her skimpy attire and unkempt appearance. "I bet y'are. Young thing like you... bet he's fucked you raw aready." she said with a cackle, her gaze lingering on the short fringe of tassles that barely covered her crotch.
Lisa shifted uncomfortably, the older woman reading this as confirmation, releasing another harsh cackle. "Big fella, ol Harry." she grinned knowingly, "Reckon he would fill ya right up he would, tear a little young thing like you right up. Dirty bastard must be having the time o' his life."
Lisa blushed profusely, unable to deny any of the old woman's claims and in fact, feeling a growing sense of jealousy rising within her at the familiarity with which she spoke of the man, her husband. Was she speaking from first hand knowledge? Had he really slept with such a hideous, obese woman.
As if reading her thoughts, Alma said kindly. "Oh don worry pet, I was only playing. Yer a woman after all and ya have yer needs, as do I... as do I." she trailed off, glancing towards the hotel entrance. "We knew each other well, Harry an I... long time ago but it weren't nothin. Ancient history." She searched Lisa's face, noting the young woman's strained expression. "Are ya alright love? Sorry, Alma didn' mean ta upset ya none. Come inside an have a cuppa tea. We can have a little chat... cheer you up a bit."
Does Lisa accept the offer, or carry on to the shop?
