Afterword

Warning: Author ranting about stuff you might not care about. Plus some shameless self-promotion.

I always think I have a lot to say at moments like these, but when I sit down to write my thoughts, I forget most of it. I'm sure it's gonna happen this time, too. Besides, some things are not appropriate to say. Sometimes I just want to vent furstrations and none of you is here to read how the author complains about stupid stuff hahaha.

I've made it no secret that the concept for this story started as an excuse to write quick porn without having to resort to porn logic to carry the story. But the more I thought about concepts and characters, the more they started to take life. I didn't think this would be a story longer than 100K words, but it ended up being over 430K if you count the side stories. About a year and a half of writing.

I started writing erotica as a way to relieve stress from work. If someone liked it, that'd be great, but I was doing it for myself. Then 2020 came and life became even harder, both for covid and non-covid reasons. I ended up opening a patreon because of it, and it got me out of a really difficult spot. It's what allows me to keep writing.

And in that note, I have to admit that even I feel ending this story is a mistake in some ways. It's popular, it gets attention, and, like many of you no doubt believe, there's still more I could do with it. You wouldn't be wrong. But in the end I just wanted to give it a conclusion. I know there are things a lot of you wanted to see, or see more of. But I would much rather leave you with the feeling of wanting more than getting you sick of this story and watch it become something boring. If at least a few of you can look back on this every few months or so and say "Yeah, that story was fun", then I'll be satisfied. This isn't profesional writing. This was me sitting down to write an idea I had and see where it took me while learning in the process. I don't know how much I've learned or how has stuck, though hahaha.

I'll continue writing. I realized I love it enough that I don't want to stop. But now I'm starting from zero again, and that's both a little liberation but mostly fucking terrifying. In the end, writers write because we want people to read and like our stories, right? I think everyone who writes has felt the fear of "What if people don't like it? What if it's boring?". I started because I was writing for myself, but I don't I am anymore. I like to think I'm writing so that the people reading can take something from it, and there's a heavy pressure there because of it.

Still, thank you very much for reading, for sticking with this story to the end. I means a lot to me.
