After the War

It had been 2 years since the Reaper War came to an end. When the war ended, Miranda did what she promised Shepard she’d do. She turned herself in. She cooperated with the Alliance and the higher chain of command. She expected to receive push back, to be lynched, to be imprisoned. She didn’t expect Admiral Hackett to vouch for her and completely clear her of all charges. “Thank you,” Miranda said. “But why?”

“Because you’re one of hers,” Admiral Hackett said. “And because she’d want me to.”

Miranda’s face grew sad thinking about it. There were several search parties out trying to find Shepard. They searched all over Earth and other neighboring planets. Liara used her Shadow Broker network. Miranda used her own resources. Even Aria T’loak was looking with her Omega fleet.

It took 2 years. 2 long years. But they did find her. Unfortunately not in the greatest condition. And also… not alive. Liara and Miranda had long discussions about what to do. “She deserves peace,” Liara cried. “I would do anything to have her back, but you know what this world is like.”

“It’s your decision. And you don’t have the backing of Cerberus anymore, but we do have allies this time. The whole galaxy,” Miranda said. “You say the word, and I’ll start the project. But take your time. I don’t need an answer yet. When you do, I’ll stand behind whatever decision you make.

Liara nodded and disappeared. Now, Liara and Miranda were supposed to have a meeting to decide what they’d do. Miranda watched the door to her office which was on Illium so she could be close to both Liara and Oriana.
