Accept and join her

With a deep breath, Leanne spoke. "What do you want me to do?"

The receptionist smiled. "Thank you, Leanne. You don't know how much help this will be." She grabbed a file from a nearby shelf and flicked through it. "Abbie is in charge of everything that happens around here, but I don't know how much she is aware about this."

'Pretty sure she knows a lot,' thought Leanne silently.

"But there's this nurse. Nurse Rachel. I don't know if you've met her yet or not." The older woman glanced up at Leanne before turning her attention back to the file. "Either way I don't trust her one bit. I'd like you to start with her."

"Okay," agreed Leanne. Sounding less convinced than she pretended. "So I just follow her round. Check out what she's up to. That kind of thing?"

"Something like that," replied the receptionist. "Whatever you can find out will be useful. Rachel's office is on the second floor but at this time she's usually doing her rounds and should be somewhere on the third." The older woman gave Leanne a good look over as she stood nervously before her. "Good luck!"
