A supermarket ad

One of the major supermarkets in town was having a summer sale, and truth be told, there were ads all over the national TV channels. For the past week, your shows were constantly interrupted by the now familiar jingle of the lively little ad that ran for a full 3 minutes. It starts with a sudden explosive opening with confetti and bursting stars everywhere, followed by the over enthusiastic voice of a commentator who hawked all the different products that came on screen. The funny thing was that everyday, there was a different thing being promoted. A few days ago, vegetables were on sale. Today, the vast assortment of meats and cheeses. You figured that such a large chain would have the budget to make these in quick succession, considering that you knew that the owner was affiliated with a big time media company. All sorts of crazy sales pitches were thrown at your face while you patiently wait for your show to come back on, and as soon as it did, all thoughts about half price potatoes and bathroom products had swiftly left your mind.

Somewhere along the line though, when it came to your weekly grocery shopping, you often remember those conveniently placed sales and where they were after a quick Google search on your phone. For a time, you were glad that the sales pitch was shoved into you. It was actually a great time for shopping now that the sales were on again.
