A superheroine partnership has some workplace drama....

The superheroine partnership of Jurisdiction and Opal had been working together for nearly 8 months now. Jurisdiction could fly for brief periods of time, needing to touch solid ground after around thirty seconds, and possessed minor superstrength and super endurance -- all flashy powers which appealed to the public. She wore a mixture of firey orange and yellow, with a billowing cape and her midsection exposed. Opal had perfect recall and could see several seconds into the future, which she took fullest advantage of with her fit body when she fought. The uniform and domino mask which she wore were brilliant blue, flecked with lighter blues and greens.

The public didn't view them as much of a partnership, with Jurisdiction often being the one taking the interviews and leading the operations. Opal was seen as less of a partner and as more of a sidekick. Jurisdiction certainly acted as though Opal was nothing more than a sidekick, for her part.

Supremacy's recent **** had taken a toll on both of the young women, as it had with most of the city. Intense, vicious arguments broke out between them as to how they should address the public about it, which enhanced every tension long-held between the young women. That, combined with the public making clear that they only really cared about what Jurisdiction had to say, was enough to finally push Opal over the edge.

SHE was the one who had to fight on when Jurisdiction's absurd weakness took her out of action. SHE was the only who had to drag Jurisdiction's bumbling body away from the approaching press almost daily. Just about every single hero and every single villain knew what made Jurisdiction weak, but the media was somehow still oblivious to it. Opal thought that it was about time for her partner's other side to be made public -- become household knowledge. And beyond that, Opal was ready to begin her career for herself, and finally step out of Jurisdiction's shadow. This seemed like a perfect opportunity to do both at once.
