A search of the camp turns up nothing.

A quick second examination of Amanda and Derek's room shows that Amanda's personal effects are still there, but the pistol you gave her earlier is missing. Derek confirms that he doesn't have it, and the last he saw it was when Amanda stowed it in the drawer of the nightstand. Another worrying sign.

"Maybe they're just getting a really early breakfast or something?" Mick wonders, Warren nodding along nervously, the two seemingly grasping at straws to maintain the hope of normalcy.

"Come on, we should search the camp to see if we can find anything. And no splitting up this time, we all need to stick together from now on," you state authoritatively.

After a quick trip back to your room to grab your rabbit rifle, the five of you sweep through the camp cabin by cabin, looking for the girls or any other signs of disturbance. You find nothing out of the ordinary; everything looks exactly like it did yesterday when you first searched the place.

Turning up nothing inside the camp, the five of you eat a quick and tension-filled meal inside the mess hall then proceed to do a sweep of the perimeter as well as the lakeside and edge of the forest nearby; still nothing catches your eye. Time passes quickly and soon it's just a couple hours until nightfall.

"Fuck!" Derek yells in frustration and despair, "what are we going to do now?"

"Maybe we should just leave? Something's clearly wrong here," Warren states with concern.

"No, I'm not leaving without Amanda," Derek says firmly. "We don't really know what happened to the girls. Maybe they saw something and went to investigate. They could still be out there, I don't want to abandon them if there's a chance they could be coming back."

"Yeah, well we don't know for sure what they'll be coming back as," Jake declares anxiously.

"Maya and Amanda aren't pushovers," Mick asserts, "if they got into trouble there's a decent chance they could get themselves out of it. Derek's right, we can't just run away and leave them."

After some debate, the five of you ultimately decide to hole up in the recreational cabin overnight. You get the two cars and park them just outside the cabin in case you need to leave in a hurry, and proceed to bring in furniture from the other cabins to barricade the rec cabin's doors and windows. You manage to fortify the building to your satisfaction just as night begins to fall. From inside your safe house, the five of you stare nervously out the window as the light fades and darkness creeps over the camp. If something's out there, nighttime would be the most likely time for it to pay you a visit.
