Chapter 2 by Pingu Pingu

What's in the box?

A random mixture of things

You open the package and look at what seems to be a weird set of items. There is a little box with an USB plug, a vial containing something dark-green and a few instruction leaflets which, little surprisingly, say nothing how to actually use what's in the package. You look for Infos on the manufacturer or sender but have no luck either.

Finally you head to your room with the box, plugging it in. It takes a second, then a menu pops out and you can see several options, including a map of your house.

Then a message pops up saying Connecting to pet which disappears after a second and you can see a rotating picture of the green something in the vial. There is a writing Level 0:Hatchling and Control:none. You curiously click on the picture and some sort of upgrade tree comes up, although everything is hidden. Aquire Pet XP to unlock is shown above and you wonder how that is done.

After a bit poking around, you finally notice a small tutorial section and while a lot of info seems to be hidden from you, the first step to have the pet gather some XP is to release it.

Curiousity wins over your worries and you head back into the kitchen, examining the vial again. On a closer look it seemed to be filled with green slime and in it is something else. You unscrew the top and the whole vial starts to vibrate as if it was excited.

You pour the content into a sink and look at what seems to be an egg shaped object with tendrils on one side, which were wiggling with excitement. Then, surprising you, the egg jumps a bit and disappears into the drain of the sink.

"Shit," you mumble and quickly head back to your PC, where you now can see a little dot moving through the pipes of the building. Controls were still locked but you see the action gained a little XP.

Curious you sit there, wondering where the strange thing wants to go.

Where does it head?
