Chapter 60 by Duskford Duskford

Before it happens, what's happening back at the cabin?

A quick look at Ravers' Cabin

Lunch was about to be served, so Victoria and Heather called the other three current occupants of the cabin. The green-eyed blonde observed as everyone began to eat, there was definitely a heavy air around the cabin as of lately.

Despite Heather’s warm welcome when she arrived back with Jennifer, Victoria could sense that her brunette friend wasn’t completely comfortable around her, making her think that it was because of Zack. ”It has to be, I didn’t give her any other reason to be angry with me.”

Her glance switched to Ashley and Brandon, the two of them seemed to be uneasy around each other as well. It looked like a fight had occurred between them and Victoria wondered what could possibly have been the reason for such a thing, since they always looked like a model-couple and never seemed to fight against each other. As for Kurt, the older guy had made a plate and immediately retreated to his room, and that’s where he was at the moment.

Victoria sighed mentally, even she was a little bit upset. She wasn’t sure anymore if performing a blowjob on Zack at the cave was a good idea. At the time, the moment seemed right to her, so she went and did it. However, the more she thought about it, the more she didn’t see a truly plausible motive for doing it other than as a repayment for what Zack had done to her on the hallway the other day.

She figured that she would have to reflect more about the matter if she wanted to find the true reasoning for her actions at the cave. At the moment, she was just focused on being worried sick about Zack having opted to remain in the woods.

After everyone ate and the dishes were washed, Ashley observed her best friend Victoria retreating to the deck with a book on her hand. She chuckled to herself, Vicky always loved to dive into those mystery novels of hers and forget all about the rest of the world.

Before she could stop herself, Ashley found herself standing up and going to the deck as well. With everything that was happening over the past few days, she realized that she didn’t truly talk to her best friend for a long time now. ”It feels like forever.”

The blue-eyed blonde stepped out onto the wooden floor of the deck and walked over to the chair where her green-eyed friend was sitting. “Losing yourself in another world, again?” She asked with a smile.

Victoria stopped reading and looked at her friend, returning her smile. “Oh, hey Ash!” She said as Ashley sat on a chair beside hers.

“So, what’s up?” Ashley asked. “Seems like we don’t sit down to have a chat in ages.”

“Yeah, you’re right, too much stuff’s happening right now,” Victoria said and then sighed. “And as for what’s up and what’s not, well, I can honestly say that I have no idea.”

At Ashley’s curious look, Victoria decided to tell her best friend about her seemingly growing feelings for Zack. She trusted Ashley implicitly and was sure that the other girl wouldn’t tell that to anyone.

Ashley frowned hearing Vicky’s claims about her feelings, remembering quite vividly the time in which she stumbled upon Zack and Heather sharing a sexy time behind the waterfall. Hooking up Victoria with Zack was a seemingly good idea that she and Heather had thought of on their first day at the cabin, but since then Heather seemed to have gotten closer to Zack instead. Ashley wondered if her friend wasn’t setting herself up for heartbreak and figured that it was her duty as best friend to share those concerns.

“Are you sure about that, Vicky?” She asked. “Zack seems to be awfully closer to Heather since we came here.”

“Yeah, I know, he told me.” Victoria replied, idly looking at the lake and then at her friend.

“He did?” Ashley asked again, surprised. “When you two were in the forest?”

Victoria nodded. “I confronted him, asking why he was suddenly doing nice things for me the past few days,” Here Vicky thought that it was best to leave out the time when she spied on Ashley having sex with Brandon and Zack licked her to an orgasm. “Then he confessed to having a crush on me for a long time but that things got complicated because he got closer to Heather.”

“Wait a minute, he said that he likes both of you?” Ashley raised an eyebrow.

“Yep, he said that because of that little fact he didn’t want to get any closer to me or Heather before he was sure which one of us he truly wanted,” Victoria answered, a smile growing on her lips when she remembered doing what she would tell next. “And then I kissed him and gave him a blowjob.”

Ashley’s blue eyes almost bugged out of her head at that confession from her best friend, she never pegged Victoria for someone who could act on passion alone, without thinking about the consequences first. ”And Zack seems to be getting a lot of action since we came here, first he licks Heather, then he gets his dick sucked by Vicky.” She mentally chuckled.

“Okay, so he said he had a crush on you, you gave him a BJ and you claim to like him as well,” Ashley said with a smirk. “Sorry, Vicky, I fail to see what’s wrong here.”

Victoria sighed. “It’s just that I was thinking while we were having lunch, at the time if felt so right, but,” She made a pause. “The more I thought about it, the more I began to think I did something, I don’t know, wrong.”

Ashley laughed, she knew right away what was eating her friend. “Vicky, I’ll ask again,” She said. “Are you sure that you like Zack?”

“I do,” Victoria replied in a vehement way, before she got an expression of doubt. “I think I do, at least.”

“You like him, Vicky, you’re not the kind of girl to go around sucking dicks of people who you don’t like,” Ashley stated, gazing at Victoria with a serious look. “What you need to do, in the name of all that’s holy and what’s not, is to forget Dustin for once and for all.”

“What does Dustin have to do with anything?” Victoria shot back in a defensive way.

“Everything!” Ashley exclaimed. “You haven’t allowed yourself to move on after he left town, then you started dating jerks ‘cause unconsciously you don’t want anyone to surpass him in your eyes, you’re afraid to meet someone just as good as him,” The blue-eyed blonde explained to her green-eyed blonde friend. “But I’m sorry to inform you, Vicky, that you may just have found that person in Zack. All you have to do is decide if you want your life to move forward or not.”

Victoria became silent at that, she was slowly realizing that her friend’s words were really the truth. She had been clinging so hard to the idea of Dustin, a good guy, that she never gave anyone an opportunity to prove themselves to her, not that any of the douchebags she dated after him would be able to do that, but Zack was different. With him, Victoria was beginning to think she could be truly happy again, if not even more happy than when she was with Dustin.

“Thanks, Ash,” She said to her friend, a large smile plastered over her face. “You really helped me in straightening my thoughts, again.”

“See? I’m always right.” Ashley beamed at Victoria. She gazed at the lake, helping her friend had the unexpected effect of helping herself to forget her own problems with Brandon, even if just for a while.

Meanwhile, Victoria was looking at the same sight, the calm and beautiful Silver Lake being a witness to her decision of putting the past where it should be and embark on an adventure of enjoying the present and moving forward towards the future, hopefully with Zack by her side.

Now, what happens with Zack and Chloe?
