They meet Gavin and Lisa

Zack and Chloe stopped in front of the room that, according to Carlos Rivera, was the place where Gavin was resting. Zack raised his hand to knock on the door but stopped at the last second.

“What’s the problem?” Chloe asked with an eyebrow raised.

Zack looked at her. “I haven’t talked to Lisa since we broke up.” He whispered.

“And you’re afraid that she resents you or something?”

He nodded. “Well, yeah, it’s just that, as you know, we haven’t parted ways on good terms.”

Chloe smiled at him. “Well, from what I know about Lisa, she’s not the type to hold a grudge.”

Zack sighed. “I hope you’re right,” He then knocked gently on the door. “’Cause we really need to see Gavin.”

A few seconds later, the door was opened and there stood Lisa, smiling at them. “Zack, Chloe, you’re here!” She exclaimed, giving a quick hug on both of them.

“Who’s there, Lisa?” Gavin’s voice asked from inside the room.

Lisa opened the door further, letting Gavin see his friends. “Look who came to see you.” She grinned.

A large smile grew on Gavin’s face while his two oldest friends walked over to the bed. “Guys, you don’t know how glad I am to see you.”

Chloe smiled. “Lisa’s father called the ranger station, one of them told us that you were here.” She told him.

“Looks like you got a little banged up, buddy.” Zack remarked, nodding at Gavin’s ankle.

“Well, it happened after I split from Chloe and Kurt,” Gavin said. “I’ll tell you what happened.”

Gavin then proceeded to tell his friends the story of how he lost himself in the woods, sprained his ankle after falling and was rescued by Lisa and her father.

“That damn Kurt,” Zack cursed. “This is all his fault!”

“If Dad and I had not found him, I shudder to think about what could’ve happened to him out there.” Lisa chimed in.

Zack looked at his ex-girlfriend with a grateful look. “I already said it to your father and I’ll say it to you as well, thanks for taking care of him.”

Lisa grinned with her hands on her hips. “He’s my friend too, you know?” She said. “I wouldn’t leave him there on the woods.”

A silence came between them in which they noticed that Gavin had fallen asleep. Lisa smiled at him and then waved to Zack and Chloe, motioning at them to follow her. The three of them got out of the room and Lisa closed the door.

“He’s sleeping at random times,” She revealed. “So, you guys are staying for lunch?”

“Actually, your father told us that Gavin can’t be moved today,” Chloe told her. “He offered us to stay the night here.”

“Really? That’s so cool!” Lisa said, excitedly. “We have so much catching up to do! Here, Chloe, let me show you my room, you’re gonna sleep there.”

Zack shrugged his shoulders as he watched the two girls heading to the room beside the one where Gavin was sleeping. Maybe the rest of that day wouldn’t be so bad after all.

”Maybe I can patch things up with Lisa and we can be friends again.” He thought.
