A painful reunion

I got off the boat to see a war torn London, troops marched the streets, armoured cars kept riding back and for and worse than that it was getting dark. It was a weird comparison...comparing all three countries but looking around I was soon met by a carriage pull up to me, "Damien?" I nodded before saying, "Yes I changed my to Demetri however. Are you my ride?" he nodded causing me say as he opened the door for me, "Let's go?" he nodded causing him to say, "We need to hurry, it will get dark soon!" and climbing in I soon shut the door and gave him the signal to drive. The carriage pulled away and rushing through the streets, I pulled my torch out to reread the letter, "Flesh is weak!" constantly repeated in my head as I put it away, "Sir!" I called out after opening the window and nodding I asked, "Have you met the Frye's?" he nodded which caused me to ask, "Her letter says their health is poor. How is it exactly?" he whipped the reigns to go faster before looking down said, "Jacob's leg never really recovered but he is healthy apart for the decline in sight. Evie is slightly more concerning...she doesn't eat or sleep regularly and is quite often sick. They are nowhere near you age!" I nodded before saying, "Treat you well?" he nodded before saying, "A decent wage!" I nodded before looking out of the window spoke, "How long will it take?" he looked back up before saying, "Long enough for a sleep!" I nodded before leaning back in said, "Let me know if you have trouble!" he nodded and closing the shutter I laid back onto the seat using my hood as a cushion as I slowly tried to drift off to sleep.

When morning came I was able to see more of the land, it was beautiful and looked completely different to London, it was peaceful here and unlike London there was no clear indication of any war taking place. Their manor was big, not as big as my old one/Damien's but it was fairly big. As we pulled up I was met by a butler who opening the door spoke, "Nice to meet you Damien!" I jumped down before looking at him spoke, "The name is Demetri...so where are they?" he opened the door and closing it behind him said, "They will meet you in the drawing room, you will excuse them sir but with their age it takes them longer!" I nodded before commenting, "I would give you a tip but I don't think you accept Russian currency!" he fakely laughed and rolling my eyes asked, "Where is the room?" he pointed at the corridor before saying, "Second room on the left!" I nodded before pulling my hood up said, "I'll let you carry on with your work sir!" he nodded before walking down walked on in. The fire was roaring but yet welcoming and grabbing myself a bottle of brandy poured some into a glass whilst I looked at the portraits. There Jacob was next to his "partner", his daughter and husband and from there were two children, Lydia and a son who seemed to have passed away. Evie's side was empty even Henry wasn’t on it. were they divorced? "They were right! Lydia does look like Evie!" next to her was a picture of her husband who also was dead, so taking a mouthful of my drink spat it out, "That's not brandy!" I was then met by a familiar voice, "We are in the middle of a war you know!"

"Nice to see you Mrs Green!" she shuddered and turning around there I saw the older Evie: she was thin and looked tired and her hair was grey. "Please Damien, it's Frye! We divorced around fifteen years a go...pointless really he died a few months after!" I nodded before saying, "Why didn't you come to Russia to find me?" she laughed before struggling to get to her seat, which I now helped her to spoke, "After what I did and the amount of time that had passed I thought you moved on!" I laughed before saying, "Nope. I became an assassin sort of. Nikolai taught me all the basics and became my mentor; he told me I was right and that I shouldn't blindly follow people's rules if they are wrong; I joined the assassins to represent the people not a creed. Hence why I helped Anastasia from escape!" she nodded before taking a mouthful from her glass spoke, "I thought you would be behind that!" I nodded before saying, "A radical group wanted to kill an innocent princess who knew nothing of her fathers actions...what else am I going to do?" she nodded before commenting, "You look well!" I smirked before saying, "And I heard you don't eat regularly, don't drink, never sleep and are always ill..." she snapped back with, "I am alive!" that caused me to theorise, "You are taking this poorly aren't you?" she nodded before we heard the voice of Jacob say, "Looking good Damien or say I shall Demetri Orelov...but that beard? Really?!" I nodded before saying, "It's Russia...it's always cold!" Jacob actually look good for his age, he had grey hair but very few wrinkles...he really did age better than Evie, "I heard your sight is going?" he nodded before swearing said, "Fucks up my search for Lydia!" I nodded as he sat down in his chair and looking at her portrait asked, "That Lydia?" they nodded as I commented, "Just to make it clear...I am not here for any of you two. I am only here to help Lydia to safety and that's only because I am not popular in Russia at the moment. I could care less about you Evie...You abandoned me after a promise!" Evie looked down before almost crying said, "I hate myself for it and I wanted to write for so long but couldn't find the courage for to say to send it!" I nodded before rolling my eyes said, "Right! Where is Lydia? Any ideas?" they shook their heads as Jacob said, "We believe the Templars took her...Churchill wants to join the Templars so is covering up his loose ends but also wants her because he can then gloat!" "How do you know she isn't already dead?" Jacob looked down drinking from my glass as Evie said, "She is an assassin who knows valuable information if they find that out he looks incredibly good. Furthermore our spies in the Police and military haven't heard or seen anything!" I nodded before pulling my hood down said, "I think a shave then I will be on my way!" Evie looked up upset by the bluntness causing Jacob to speak, "Breakfast is almost ready...at least eat before you go!" I nodded he smiled getting up and Evie doing the same I stopped her and turning around kissed her lips, "You don't look that old!" she smiled causing her to say, "I regretted my decision from about month after you left!" I hugged her before saying, "Are you going to eat? drink and sleep now? or do I have to sit there all night and make sure you sleep?" she nodded before saying, "I'll try!" causing me to take her arm I said, "Lydia is a beautiful woman you know!" she nodded before saying, "Looks like a younger me!" causing me to say, "But...is she as passionate as you?" she glared at me before asking, "I never knew you liked women almost three times your age!" and laughing I said, "I like women with experience!" and slapping her backside said, "Come on let's get some food!"
