A minor detail

You do not expect the world to come crashing down around you because of that change... And neither does it. After such a long time with the Rulebook, however, you have learnt well to notice its subtle nudges and now it is telling you to pick up your phone. You do so, of course, and notice that the previously empty "Upcoming calendar events" tab now has a single entry. You will be meeting someone in a nearby restaurant at 6PM tonight.

You know the place and it is quite small; whatever happens tonight, the number of the strangely privileged people is not ridiculously high. Furthermore, it has a number of small private booths; it is even more likely that you will be using one of those, so there will probably be just a few people. This makes sense, of course. Too many Rule-somethings would create a chaos in any eventuality.

Nervous about the evening but also thrilled about the discovery of another person in your position and somewhat calmed about the explanation of the new policy, you nonetheless have to get your emotions under control and get ready for work. Otherwise you are risking to experience the new punishment a bit too soon for your taste. You dress in a skirt suit, bearing in mind you will not have the time to change before the meeting in the restaurant. You rather hope you will keep all of it on so that the meeting would be on equal ground in that sense. It would be a bit too strange to discuss the fate of the world half-naked and red-bottomed.

You decide the bus to work rather than walk. Partly this is because you want to go over the Rulebook once again before work; partly because you recall seeing a few of your first witnessed spankings in that context and you are quite certain new policy will be put to good use in public places. It turns out, however, that you do not need to wait until even going outside to see its effects. In the lobby of your apartment building you see your neighbour (whose name you never can quite recall), a woman in her 30s, on bowed legs with her panties lowered and stretched between them and her dress lifted well above her waist. The red-faced lady is rubbing her clit furiously, obviously eager to get done with this humiliation as soon as she can... Even though an older female neighbour, Mrs R, is standing in front of her with a heavy strap, obviously intending to start using it the moment the first part of the punishment is over.

You greet them both politely but move on promptly. Not only you have a bus to catch, but you also have no intention of making Mrs R think you are spying on someone's punishment for the sake of it. The last time it happened you got away with a few smacks on the seat of your jeans and being told to scram; this time, if she thinks you are making a habit of it, you are quite certain it would not be so easy.

Once on the bus (which is entirely spanking-free to your surprise), you open the Rulebook again. Although you are much calmer now after the initial shock of discovery, you still wonder if you should protect yourself against the other person's or persons' new actions. You can lose more than your dignity from another change. On the other hand... Writing something like "No new changes can be made" will be seen as an obviously hostile move. You want to cooperate with them, not start a universe-wide war. Not to mention one you might not necessarily win.

Still, there should be a smarter way to do it. After a few moments of careful thought you get a pencil out.

"New Rule: reality cannot be altered in a way that would significantly hurt the Rulebook owner or is directed specifically against her. This Rule will remain unknown to all but the Rulebook owner unless enacted".

Suddenly feeling a lot more confident, you put the Rulebook away and sit back. There are still a couple of stops to go.
