Chapter 49

What to do.
A grand addition to Damon's floating continent.
As Damon stood, stalwart and noble, sun shining down on him in grand, godly rays, at the peak of this fantasy world he’d become a part of, standing at the peak of what should be the highest mountain in all existence, man made, at the very least, and from this mountaintop view, Damon saw his entire realm. The newly acquired elven forest currently being settled into place against the continent floating in the skies, the kingdom of Giants he’d helped form from not too long ago, a small castle formed by their efforts with a shrine dedicated to the godly man, Damon Steel, the man who’d spared their lives and brought them to a higher state of living than mere bloodshed.
And all this in Damon’s eyes… It was cool, he admitted, but what was the point? It took Damon more time than he felt reasonable to ponder his entire life, standing atop the mountain for many hours, and after the thirtieth hour, Damon had his sudden realization, as he turned around looking upon the one true home he had in this world, the place which held the countless souls awaiting his return. Who was Damon to make them wait any longer?
And with that, Damon appeared in his throne room, laying his eyes upon the four figures awaiting him, as Ember, Dirpe, Dalia, Lorelai all immediately crowded him, countless ever welcome bodies pressing against his own as Damon simply stood there, being effectively carried over to the throne by the women present, as he was gently set upon the throne, before being affectionately coddled by the ever patient women in his life, as they simply adored his inaction.
And in that inaction, Damon was adoring them back, grinning wildly back at each and every one of the beautiful figures crowding around him, but before he could say a single word, Damon’s head simply fell to the side, eyes slowly drifting closed, as he simply fell ****.
…
And as he sat there, utterly unmoving atop the throne, his various beauties were shocked and concerned at this sudden event, as Damon simply lay there, for a moment, before they noticed he wasn’t even breathing, as they crowded his form.
Lorelai, usually one of calm, and capable of viewing many a great things through the vale, and even she couldn’t see through what was happening to Damon, as she dropped to her knees, closed her eyes tight, before imploring beings unseen and incomparable, and soon, she heard a voice return a response, not with warm words, though, ‘The man atop the sky, Above not only the clouds and even those cowards who inhabit them, A man of true valor, Worry not… He shall awaken. In time…’
And with that, Lorelai was suddenly overcome by the absurd clarity of this message… The first time she’d heard even close to this clarity was when she went with him, and that turned out fine… “Better than fine.” But a response from those beings this clear, and this in Damon’s favor? She returned to the cohort of worried wives, before assuring them she’d seen a good outcome, but truly… She wasn’t sure, but he would return, that much was certain.
But then, something happened that clouded even her endless optimism, as a screen, something Damon had often spoken of, floating before his **** form, words which they didn’t quite understand, they clearly were not good indicators, in their minds.

And somewhere, those supposedly cowardly beings in the clouds, were attempting everything within their quite wide range of power to awaken Damon from the sleep he was entrapped in, but it was all fruitless, as he continued on laying inert, under the concerned eyes of everyone watching on.
But one person in particular, that was currently present, Ember Firesglow, the first member who’d joined Damon, though she wasn’t as conscious back then, the only one truly binded to the soul of Damon, by virtue of being his elemental, she could understand the words, and she could truly understand the dangerous situation they were in. She knew a bit about the system, as in her time with Damon as a conscious entity, she’d always been quite curious about its functions, and Damon had always been the amenable type, so she was quite aware of the forgiving nature of his system. And if even that couldn’t save him?
…
Damon, somewhere lost, somewhere far from his home, could see nothing in the void surrounding him, until something came into view, and then, a voice, distant and unknown, called out to him.
“It’s been a while…”
