Chapter 2 by rdckrd rdckrd

Who are we following?

A girl who will do anything for love

Professor Hannigan spread the artifacts out across her desk while she lectured about the ritual in her dull monologue. As the woman placed the centerpiece of her presentation, the classroom erupted in giggles and snorts. Millie Maywood rolled her eyes at her immature classmates and fought back a blush as her eyes flitted across the phallic statue. Then, in a panic, she shot a look behind her and to her left.

Brad seemed just as uncomfortable as Millie. His eyes were fixed on the male fertility statue and his lips were tightly pursed. Roses were blooming on his cheeks. Millie let out a sigh of relief. Her beloved was too mature to giggle at something so ridiculous.

"The Adzuki tribe were a powerful **** in the Amazon basin approximately two thousand years ago. They had a fierce warrior culture centered on a male fertility ritual. It was said that this ritual enhanced the men of this tribe into powerful, supernatural warriors of **** strength and vitality. We know a surprising amount of information about this tribe and their ritual because of the inscriptions found at Talonazak. I will outline the ritual steps now."

Professor Hannigan droned on and Millie dutifully copied down each and every detail for her notes. She was nothing if not a dutiful student. The only times she stopped taking notes were when she peeked back at Brad, who seemed to only grow redder as the class went on. Millie began to worry that there might be something wrong with Brad.

Perhaps she could help him...

By the time the class period came to a close, Millie was almost bursting with anxiety. What was bothering Brad? Was he hurt? Was there something going on in his life? She had to know.

When the bell rang, Millie shot out of her seat like a rocket and rushed over to Brad, but not before Alicia Thompson got to him first. The buxom blonde was giggling at something Brad had said. Rage clouded Millie's vision.

Alicia already had a boyfriend. Parker James was the hunky, muscular jock to Alicia's blonde, cheerleader bimbo. The pair _seemed _exclusive, but Alicia still liked to tease and prod at Brad as if for sport.

"What's so funny?" Millie asked, popping up behind her crush.

"Oh, hey Millie. I was just telling Alicia it's not every day we have an x-rated class."

Millie brayed like a horse, hoping against hope that her fake laughter would sound genuine. She didn't like the joke, but she loved Brad.

"That's so funny, Brad! Say, do you have any plans for after class?"

"Brad is having lunch with us," Alicia insisted, staring daggers at Millie.

At that moment, Parker strolled over and wrapped a massively muscled arm around Alicia. Brad's demeanor instantly changed. He suddenly seemed nervous and awkward. His hands trembled slightly and the blush in his cheeks burned like two red suns.

He looks terrified. I wonder if Parker has been bullying him. I wouldn't put it past him. Ugh, what a jerk.

"You flirting with my girl, punk?" Parker gave Brad a little shove.

Millie saw red. She was a tiny, petite little thing standing at 5'1 and weighing only 108lbs, but she was ready to go into battle.

Brad gave Parker a meek little shove back and the two began grappling, the whole altercation ending with Parker noogying Brad while the latter laughed hysterically.

"You know I'm just messing with you bro."

"Yeah, I know," Brad was now purple.

"Come on, let's get lunch. I'm fucking starving!"

Brad awkwardly shrugged at Millie, "I guess I'll see you later, Mills."

"Bye Brad."

Millie choked back her tears and murmured a little "sure". She watched Brad go and then sullenly began packing up her books.

"Let me guess, more Brad heartache?"

The question was posed by Millie's roommate and best friend, Jada Painter. Jada stood with her arms crossed over her prodigious bust, her plump lips pursed in a frown. When displeased, Jada had a way of making her ample, bushy black curls dance in disapproval.

"I don't know why he keeps hanging out with her."

"Probably because she's blonde and beautiful and bursting out of her clothes."

"Am I not beautiful?"

Jada immediately went into damage control, "you're gorgeous! Just not...conventionally."

Millie fidgeted with her braid of bright pink hair and looked down at her scrawny, unremarkable body. She was the worst mix of skinny and pudgy. Toothpick arms and legs, a paunchy belly and small, shapeless boobs. The only thing she really had going for her was her face. Her bright blue eyes gazed back at her from the mirror on the opposite wall. She may not be beautiful, but she was very cute...almost _too _cute.

"He's never going to notice me, is he?"

"Well...maybe...probably not," Jada admitted.

Millie's brain whirled. If Alicia was the benchmark, how could she remake herself in the girl's image?

"Maybe I can start going to the gym. I can do...is palates or yoga? And I can change my skincare routine. How much do you think a boobjob costs? Two, three thousand?"

"Millie, stop it! You always do this. You get so boy crazy and go off the deep end. Take a breath. Brad will notice you in that way or he won't, but at some point you have to move on! You're talking about remaking yourself just for a boy. Doesn't that seem ridiculous?"

"He's not just any boy! He's the best boy I've ever met. I love him, Jada!"

Jada sighed deeply, "that might be true, but you can't **** him to feel any sort of way."

"But I could nudge him! I could become what he wants and--"

"Fine, do what you're going to do, Millie. Just don't say I didn't warn you."

Jada marched off, leaving Millie to feel a little sick inside.

I love Brad. I want to be with him more than anything. Is it really so crazy to change myself for him?

Self-doubt flowed into Millie's heart. Maybe Jada was right. Maybe she was just acting crazy.

"Maybe...I might be insane...but if that's so...I want to be crazy. Crazy and in love and....his."

Millie looked back in the direction of Brad's desk and gasped. There, sitting neatly in the middle of the beige expanse was a simple composition book. It was Brad's notes. Her heart fluttered. What could be written in there? Was it just boring notes or was there something more. Perhaps there were hints as to what Brad liked in girls. At the very least, it would be an excuse to talk to Brad again.

Millie's hand hovered over the notebook as she tried to figure out what to do.

What does Millie do?
