A few minutes earlier + Pov shift to...

The sound of a footstep ring across the lab as you walk over to the incubator. This room is filled with machines most people would consider magic, but you understand their function well enough to make them work on your own. You are standing in front of one of those machines. Inside is what you refer to as PMC-C2.

"How's it doing?" You ask a researcher who was standing next to the incubator. His name was Tony, he has been working at the lab for 5 years now. "It looks like the process is going smoothly."

"Excellent! This will be our second successful clone, it took us ages, but this time we'll make sure everything goes right." You say enthusiastically.

"Yes sir! We have been improving our tech since then, I am sure that it will work out fine." Tony says happily.

Your name is Octavius and you are one of the leading scientists working for Team Rocket. It's not that you want to work for them but when Team Rocket approached you with the DNA of the legendary Pokemon Mew you couldn't refuse. It's been your dream to create your own Pokemon, a Pokemon stronger than any other Pokemon. A few years ago, your team successfully created a clone of Mew, it was something you always thought was impossible. But every attempt to create more clones failed.

"Why... Why can't we create more of you? We did everything exactly like the first time, every single step to the smallest detail, we upgraded our tech, and still... WHY IS IT NOT WORKING!? NO! This time it will work." You say almost slamming your hand on the control panel.

Suddenly the system in the lab shuts down, you hear a rumbling noise in PMC-C2's tank before it starts to liquefy and turns into a ditto.

"NOOOOO! This isn't happening. Can anyone tell me WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON! Oh shit..."

"The electricity has been cut off and we can't get it back unless it's fixed from the main power, which is outside." One of your colleagues says as you rush past him. You quickly rush into the other room but It's too late.

"We are doomed."

The class of the incubator shatters, the water spilling on the ground, revealing Mewtwo, its glowing eyes piercing through the darkness of the lab. Three of your colleagues gather around you as Mewtwo floats down and rests on the broken incubator.

"What is it going to do?" One of your colleagues mutters.

"We have to get out of here." You say

You quickly gather your fellow scientists and rush out of the room, hoping Mewtwo wouldn't follow. But you hear a loud screeching sound, you look back but it's gone. You turn around and see Mewtwo floating in the middle of the room. You hear a voice in your head.

"You thought you could contain me, but I was born to destroy. You will Pay for what you did to me!."

Mewtwo's eyes start glowing again and it surrounds itself with what you think is an aura of destruction before unleashing it. You and your fellow scientists are sent flying by the force of the attack and before you know it, the lab is engulfed in flames. You are all shaken up and scared but you manage to stand up. "You will pay for what you have done!" Mewtwo's voice is filled with anger and despair.

"GO DONPHAN! Use Giga Impact!" you yell as you throw a Pokeball. Donphan appears and charges forward. Mewtwo lifts its right arm and swipes to the side. Donphan leaps in the air about to slam its tusks into Mewtwo when suddenly one of the incubators crashes into Donphan sending it flying through the wall. Mewtwo then proceeds to destroy the whole lab with its Psychic powers, leaving it in ruins.

You look back in horror as Mewtwo destroys the lab and everything in it. You can only watch in terror as Mewtwo wreaks havoc. You release your remaining Pokemon from their balls and send them into battle as you and the other scientists run out of the lab.

Your group escapes, but you know this is only the beginning of a new era.

Authors Note: Woooo! 10th chapter here on CHYOA and this is only the beginning. The next chapter should be the final of this "prequel" before we head into the timeskip. Also, here is a totally unrelated Mewtwo fact: In "The Uncut Story of Mewtwo's Origin" Dr.Fuji's daughter is called Amber... but she died... but he cloned her and the clone's name is Ambertwo... Ambertwo and Mewtwo were friends but...
