Chapter 12 by Shineoda Shineoda

What's next?

Departure (back to Green's pov)

"We can climb through there," Silver says, pointing to the hole. "It's the only way out."

You both climb through the hole and find yourselves outside. The building is still shaking and you can see smoke rising from it. You hear the sound of sirens in the distance and you know that the authorities are on their way.

"Okay, I think the police and the firefighters got this, let's hide on this ship they could still be looking for us." Silver says, helping you up.

You both run towards the dock, trying to find a place to hide.

You both quickly climb aboard the lifeboat of the ship, grateful for the cover it provides. You catch your breath and look around, trying to calm your racing heart. Silver looks at you with concern.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shaken up." You reply.

"You did great back there." He says, giving you a smile.

"Thanks, so did you. I don't know what I would have done without you." You say, giving him a grateful smile.

A few minutes pass before you hear the sound of footsteps on the dock. You both look at each other, fear in your eyes. You know that you have to be quiet and hope that they don't find you. You see a figure walking towards the ship, and you hold your breath, hoping that they won't see you. The figure stops and looks around, but they don't see you or Silver. You both let out a sigh of relief as they continue walking past the ship. You both stay hidden for a little while longer, waiting for the coast to clear. You yawn as you start to feel tired. "Can we rest here for a while ?" You ask Silver.

"Of course. We need to rest and figure out our next move." He replies.

You both make yourselves comfortable on the ship and rest for a while. The adrenaline rush from the escape wears off, and you start to feel exhausted. You close your eyes and try to catch some sleep. But before you can drift off, you hear Silver's voice.

"I was thinking about what you said earlier, about whether we caused all of that destruction back there." He says.

"Yeah?" You reply, still half-asleep.

"I think you're right. We might have caused it, but we had to do something to stop Team Rocket. They were doing terrible things in that lab." He says.

"Yeah, you're right. At least we stopped them." You reply, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

You both rest for a while longer, but you know that you have to leave the ship and figure out your next move, but you are too tired, and eventually, you fall asleep.

As you sleep, your mind ebbs and flows with dreams of adventure and danger. You dream of fighting off Team Rocket grunts, finding rare Pokemon, and exploring new regions. But as you dream, you feel a sense of unease lingering in the back of your mind. You know that you can't stay hidden forever and that you need to find a way to stop Team Rocket for good. As you drift off into a deep slumber, you dream of the events that just happened. The sound of the Pokemon chasing you, the ground shaking beneath your feet, and the fear that gripped your heart. But as your dream continues, the fear is replaced by a sense of adventure and excitement. You dream of exploring new places, catching new Pokemon, and battling against strong opponents. You dream of becoming the best trainer in the world.

But the dream starts to fade away as you're abruptly woken up by a loud noise. You sit up, rubbing your eyes and trying to focus. You realize that it's daytime now and you must have slept for a while. You look around and see that you're still on the ship, but something seems off. You can hear voices and the sound of footsteps on the deck.

You nudge Silver and he wakes up, looking around in confusion. "What's going on?" he asks, groggily.

"I don't know, I think the ship is moving." You respond.

As you both get up, you can hear the sound of a motor churning in the distance. It's clear that the ship is being piloted by someone.

You both try to get a better look, but the windows are covered in dust and grime, making it hard to see. As you're searching, you hear footsteps coming toward you. You turn around to see a man bald man, probably in his mid fifties, wearing a sloppy shirt and pants, standing in front of you. He looks at you with a stern expression.

"What are you two doing here?" he asks in a gruff voice.

"We were hiding here," you reply, trying to stay calm. "We escaped from Team Rocket and needed a place to rest."

The man looks at you skeptically but eventually nods. "I see. Well, you're on my ship now, so you'll have to pay for your passage."

You and Silver exchange a glance. You don't have any money, and you're not sure what to do.

"We don't have any money," Silver says, speaking up. "But we'll work for you."

The man looks at you both for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I could use some extra hands. You can help with the deck work."

You both nod, grateful for the opportunity to stay on the ship. As the day passes, you work hard on the deck, trying to help the man with his tasks. The work is hard and tiring, but you don't complain. You know that you need to work hard to earn your keep on the ship. It could be much worse at least he is not asking for sexual favors. As the day comes to an end, the man calls you and Silver over to him. "Alright, you two have worked hard today. So I prepared some special food."

You both look at him in surprise, not expecting anything special.

"Thank you," you both say as he brings out a huge plate of freshly cooked fish and steamed vegetables, and you can smell the savory aroma wafting toward you.

"I totally forgot to introduce myself, I'm Walter." The bald man says.

"I'm Silver and this is my friend..."

"Green, I'm Green." you interrupt Silver.

As you eat, the man starts to talk to you both about his life on the sea. He tells you about the different ports he's been to, the people he's met, and the adventures he's had. You listen with fascination, your mind wandering to the possibilities of what you could experience if you stayed on the ship. As the night starts to fall, you both finish your meal and thank the man again. He nods and heads off to bed, leaving you both on the deck to watch the stars.

"I can't believe we're on a ship," Silver says, looking out at the night sky.

"I know, it's crazy. But at least we're safe for now," you reply, looking out at the sea.

"We totally forgot to ask him where we are going." Silver says.

You both laugh at Silver's sudden realization. "I guess we'll find out eventually," you say with a smile.

As you both settle in for the night, you can't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder. You don't know where the ship is headed, but you know that the possibilities are endless. You close your eyes and let yourself drift off to sleep, dreaming of the adventures that await you.

The next few days pass in a blur of hard work and new experiences. You and Silver work tirelessly on the deck, helping Walter with his tasks and learning all about life on the sea. You learn how to tie knots, set sails, and navigate the ship by the stars. You even caught some fish, each one more delicious than the last. As you work, you can't help but feel like you are a part of something bigger. The sea was vast and endless, and you are just a small part of it. You know that there is so much to explore and discover, and you can't wait to see where the ship will take you next.

The next morning, you wake up to the sound of Wingulls and the smell of saltwater. You sit up, stretching your arms and looking around. You look out at the sea and see that the ship is sailing toward a vibrant city with a lighthouse in the distance.

"Is that Olivine City?" you ask Silver.

"I think so," he replies, squinting his eyes to get a better look.

As the ship gets closer, you can see that the city is bustling with life. You can hear the sounds of people talking, bells ringing, and Pokemon chattering. You can see a group of people gathered by the dock, looking up at the ship with curiosity.

"Looks like we've arrived," Walter says, coming up to you both. "You two have been a big help. I'm gonna stay here for one day. I know you don't have any money so if you need a place to sleep you are always welcome."

You both thank Walter and gather your things, ready to set foot on land again. As you step off the ship and onto the dock, the group of people gathered there to turn to look at you.

"Hey, are you trainers?" one of them asks, looking at you with a grin on his face."

"We are wasting our time they don't have any Pokeballs on them, they're obviously not trainers." Another guy from the group says.

"Ahh man, I would have loved to pound his girlfriend in front of him."

They all laugh and walk away.

"What the hell was that about?" You ask Silver.

"No clue." He replies, looking just as confused as you. "Let's just ignore them and focus on exploring the city."

As you enter the city, you're greeted with the familiar sights and sounds of a bustling Pokemon metropolis. You can see trainers battling on the nearby beach, shops selling all kinds of Pokemon gear, and even a gym in the distance. You both look at each other and smile, knowing that this is where your journey truly begins. Suddenly your head begins to hurt, you fall to your knees, pictures flashing in front of your inner eye.

A small town... two Figures, one male, and one female... A rainbow-colored bird...

You shake your head, trying to clear the images from your mind. "What was that?" you mutter to yourself.

"Are you okay?" Silver asks, looking concerned.

"I don't know. I had these weird flashes of images in my head. It was like a memory, but I don't remember anything like that happening."

"What kind of vision?" Silver asks, looking at you with curiosity.

"It was a small town, and there were two figures, a male and a female. And then there was a rainbow-colored bird," you explain, trying to make sense of it all.

Silver looks at you with an even more curious expression. "Maybe it's something to do with your past."

You nod, feeling a sense of unease wash over you. "Maybe you're right. But for now, let's just focus on exploring Olivine City."

As you both walk through the city, you can't help but feel like you're being watched. You keep catching glimpses of people following you, and you can hear whispers as you pass by.

"What do you think they want?" Silver asks, looking over his shoulder.

"I'm not sure. Maybe they're just curious about us," you reply, trying to brush off your unease.

As you continue exploring the city, the feeling of being watched never quite leaves you. As you pass by a café, a woman sitting outside catches your attention. She's looking at you intensely, her gaze almost piercing. "Hey, do you guys want to join me for a drink?" she says, motioning to the empty seats across from her. You both look at each other, unsure if this is a good idea.

"I don't know," you say hesitantly.

"We don't have any money." Silver says slightly embarrassed.

The woman laughs. "Don't worry about it, it's on me." she says, still looking at you with that intense gaze.

As both of you sit down, the woman introduces herself as Lila.

"So, I couldn't help but notice that you guys seem a bit lost," she says, sipping on her drink. "Are you new to the city?"

"Yeah, we just arrived on a ship," you reply, feeling a bit uneasy under her intense gaze.

Lila smiles. "Ah, I see. Well, Olivine City can be a bit overwhelming at first. But I'm sure you'll find your way around soon enough. If you need any recommendations or guidance, just let me know," Lila offers, still studying you both with that intense gaze.

You both thank her for her offer, but the feeling of unease doesn't leave you. You can't help but wonder why Lila is so interested in you and Silver. As you finish your drinks and say goodbye to Lila, you both decide to continue exploring the city. But the feeling of being watched only intensifies. Later that night, as you and Silver settle into your room on the ship you can't help but feel like something is off.

"Did you notice how Lila was watching us so closely?" you ask Silver.

"Yeah, it was kind of weird. And did you notice how those guys at the dock were talking about you?"

You nod. "Yeah, it's like everyone is watching us. Do you think we should be worried?"

Silver shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe we're just being paranoid. But let's keep our guard up just in case."

You both lay in your bunks, trying to shake the feeling of unease that's settled over you.

"SO, what's your favorite Pokemon?" Silver asks.

You smile, feeling a sense of relief as the conversation turns to something more lighthearted.

"I've always been a fan of Eevee." You reply. "What about you?"

"I'd have to go with Weavile," Silver says with a grin.

You both start discussing your favorite Pokemon and before you know it, the feeling of unease has faded away.

"I think we should stay here and start our journey as trainers in Johto. Silver suggests.

You pause for a moment, considering Silver's suggestion.

"I-I... I need to go back to Kanto," you say, surprising both yourself and Silver.

"What? Why?" Silver asks, looking at you with confusion.

"I don't know, it's just this feeling I have. Like I need to go back there to figure something out," you reply, still unsure of the reasoning behind your sudden decision.

Silver nods, understanding written on his face.

"Alright, I understand. But promise me you'll be safe, okay?" he says, his voice serious.

You nod, as you feel a sense of relief wash over you as you realize that Silver truly is a good friend. "And I'll keep in touch, and let you know how everything goes."

The next morning, Silver says goodbye to Walter and you. As Silver steps off the ship and onto the dock, he takes a deep breath, before turning around and waving to you. You wave back, a small smile on your lips. As you watch him disappear into the crowd, a sense of sadness washes over you. You know that your journey ahead will be filled with challenges, and you'll miss having Silver by your side.

But you shake off the feeling and take a deep breath. It's time to focus on your own journey now. The ship begins to set sail again, and you find yourself looking out into the horizon, wondering what adventures await you. As you sail toward Kanto, you can't help but feel a sense of excitement and apprehension. The memory of the small town and the rainbow-colored bird still lingers in your mind, but you push it aside for now. You need to lie down for a while before you can become a Pokemon trainer.

Days turn into weeks, and before you know it, you find yourself back in Kanto.

5 years later...

It took you 5 years to save enough money to buy supplies and multiple sets of clothing for your journey, and the guide you had to pay for safe travel wasn't cheap either. You're not proud of what you had to do to get this money but you managed to save up enough and keep your virginity. Most of your memory has returned, yet there are still parts missing involving your time at Team Rockets hideout, but you know you lived together with your parents in Pallet Town. You have decided that you want to start your journey there after reading an article about two upcoming Pokemon trainers that will start their journey next week, Blue Oak, the grandson of the famous Prof. Oak, and a girl named Amber.

Word from Author: Didn't plan for this chapter to have almost 3k words but I had too much fun and just couldn't stop writing. I'm super hyped now that the real story is about to begin, I got so much stuff planned, I almost don't know where to start, just kidding next chapter is already wip xD
I feel like I should have fleshed out Olivine City a bit more but I didn't know what to do. Honestly, I just wanted to get Silver to Johto xD
Maybe I will do a short flashback once Green has her first gym battle, where they watched the battles inside Olivine City's gym,. Got a nice, sfw, GreenxSilver picture I didn't use in this chapter.
