A dreamwalk with Heather.

Interlude 7

It took Jason a little while to orient himself.

At first, he was sitting on Heather’s bed while she played games on her computer dressed as Commander Shepard while speaking to her microphone, adding commentary to the gameplay.

She was dreaming about her own livestreams, though he could tell the dream narrative was nothing like what actually happened in the game. She was struggling with bugs, trying to keep the story on track when the game was going off the rails. Not quite a nightmare, but it was definitely causing her stress.

He had to focus pretty hard in order to make a change.

The next moment, they were back on the trail, and he could once again feel the sting of Heather’s slap, and it almost broke him out of the dream. Thankfully, the rest of the moment played out the same as in their shared memories, and he stopped her from hitting him a second time. But when he sat with Kate and Chloe moved to speak with Heather, he could hear their conversation clearly, even from a distance.

“Kinda surprising, isn’t it?” Chloe asked and Heather turned towards her, annoyed at the world in general.

“What’s surprising?” She asked, unable to resist the obvious lure.

“That Jason can actually be insightful about other people’s feelings?”

That got a chuckle from the blonde. “Yeah, didn’t see that coming from Dick-Head over there.”

“I have a confession to make.” She admitted. “I may have helped push him to pay more attention to you and figure things like this out.”

“Why would you do that?”

“Because I want him to have some sexual experiences with girls he cares about. Girls like you and Kate.”

Heather blinked at her, her mouth agape. Jason, from his perch just out of earshot couldn’t help but smile, but continued pretending he wasn’t eavesdropping on the cheerleader’s memory in her dream. “Why would you do something shitty like that?” She asked at last.

“Because he’s my best friend. And because when he was beating himself up over getting catfished by someone calling herself Stephani, I helped him come up with a plan to take control of his life, and part of that was him asking me to date him.”

“So what, you’re like his fucking cuckqueen girlfriend?”

Chloe flinched, and Heather seemed to immediately regret her choice of words. “I mean, not that exactly, but I guess it’s something like that. I…” She sighed, “This isn’t how I wanted you to find out about this but… I was… I have issues. Trauma. From when I was sixteen. I can’t… be with him physically, sexually. And I guess I’ve got a kinky streak, because I really like helping him get with other girls. Though, obviously it’s mostly fantasizing at present, but as I said, we’re working on making it more of a reality. I want him to have multiple girlfriends. I’d love if one of them was you.”

“Fuck.” Heather frowned, “That’s pretty blunt. But at least you’re being honest. So what, you just want me to throw myself on his dick?”

“No. But I think you and he could build a sexual relationship. And I can probably sweeten the deal, if you’re reluctant to do it for his and my sake.”

“This is fucked up. But fine, I’m listening.”

“Alex knows about some of this. I think I could convince her to fool around with you, maybe even have sex with you. At least give you a chance.”

“Fucking shitball, what?!” Heather growled, “How the fuck would you do that? How is she even involved in this?”

“I’ll fill you in later. Are you interested in my help, in exchange for giving Jason a chance?”

Heather groaned and rubbed her face with both hands, “Fine, fine I’m in. What would I have to do with Jason?”

“I’m not going to ask you to sleep with him right away. Just try to be open to his advances. For now, there’s something I’d like to test out with Kate. And don’t worry, I think this could help you too. Follow my lead, okay?”

“Ugh. Fine.” The blonde agreed.

Jason smiled, quite happy with his girlfriend’s talents of persuasion, but he knew what happened next already, so he concentrated again.
