A crowded train

At least the process of finding an apartment was easy.

Alice held onto the railing on the rather busy train, watching out the window. The city was so much different then Haven. So lively. So fast. Always noisy. Much like the crowded train she was on. She shyly tried to stay near the corner, minding her own business. She did learn one differing societal norm; do not stick your nose into other people's business. That man did not like that she tried to listen in on his conversation over the phone. Maybe next time, don't look at him directly in the eye and move noticeably closer to him.

So she figured that's what people did, and what she should do in return. She was facing the wall, examining her new phone, wondering what to study up on, first. Haven was strict with media control, and only the elders decided what outside media was allowed in. Once her phone was charged and she could go online, she'd have a much easier time blending in.

It was during this thought process that she made her first friend, a young looking man who looked about her age. He was a little chubby, but still looked professional in his dress shirt and black pants.

Oh, and he decided to greet her by rubbing his crotch against her ass.

Alice looked up when she noticed. It seemed normal to accidentally bump into each other in crowded places, but this was...new...it felt as if something hard, like a stick, was poking her butt. She wasn't sure at first if she should respond. Mind your own business and everything. But after about 10 minutes of this, it was obvious this rubbing wasn't accidental. The man had gone from rubbing...whatever it was against her butt to grabbing it, massaging her ass over the cloth of her sundress. She wondered why he didn't just say hi, and why he was starting to breath a little heavier. Finally, she saw her chance to break the ice when he finally muttered something.

"Mmmm, you like that, don't you, you filthy slut?"

Just as quickly, Alice turned her head to face him, his face turning completely shocked as she spoke up with a nervous smile.

"I'm not filthy, I took a shower this morning. I don't know if I really like this massage, you're only focusing on one area. And I don't know what a 'slut' is, but...do you know if it pays?"

He didn't reply, instead still staring at her in shock. She started to frown. Had she really broken some other societal norm?

"Um...well, it's not...really a massage..." He looked just as lost as she did, and that did make her feel a bit better.

"Then what are you doing to me?"

"I'm...molesting you?" He said.

"Molesting me?...Is that what this is? Why?"

"Because....because you have a sweet looking body...." The way he was replying felt like she should really know all of this. Alice had learned to pick up on this voice, and she had to adapt quickly.

"Oh, so because I have a nice looking body, I'm going to be molested?" She smiled as she finished her sentence, letting that new bit of information settle in her brain. "Got it! And what exactly is a slut?"

"You...don't know what a slut is?"

"I'm new around here. I came from Haven, maybe you've heard of it? Oh, where are my manners. I'm Alice Dawson."

"Ted." He said, now almost as quiet as her. Ted was baffled, of course. "Um...well, if you want to know what it is, I could, uh...teach you?...And you're looking for a job?"
