A bolt of lightning came striking right past her

With her hand on the barrier, Courtney suddenly felt vibrations which left her confused. The confusion would quickly change into panic as she fell forward, the barrier suddenly shattering like glass. As the barrier collapsed down as if it were a wall of paint a new image began visible. The convenience store was wrecked, a pallet of flashing colors being displayed before Courtney.

A bolt of lightning struck the ground beside her. She froze up at that very moment, looking up to see many robed figures lying on the ground either dead or ****. Staring up to the source of these blinding lights, Courtney was surprised to find Manager Kim fighting with a group of robed people. She couldn't tell who they were, but somehow... Manager Kim was flying?! Confusion was painted over Courtney's face as she tried to gather herself, unable to believe what she was seeing.

In front of her, Manager Kim was flying in the air unleashing lightning from her hands and fingertips. She was striking down all of the robes people that were trying to attack her. She was using magic?! "What... what's going on?" None of them stood out in particular besides one of them.

A woman with blond hair and a black hairband walked with her hands behind her back. The lightning bolts just seemed to curve around her in a way. It were as if she had an invisible barrier around her that was just pushing the bolts of lightning aside. She approached Manager Kim who was mercilessly unleashing an onslaught of attacks at the crowd of attackers.

"How impressive, Kimberly." The blond woman spoke with a smug look on her face. The lightning bolts further expanded as she waved her hand in front of her, the remaining robed attackers scrambling away from her. The lightning suddenly reflected off of something, striking Manager Kim in the chest. This was all that it took to send her down to the ground with a trail of smoke following her down to the ground.

The blonde approached Manager Kim with the same confident grin on her face. "Who'd have thought that the powerful mage — Kimberly Hydren — was lurking within this small little town? I sure didn't." The woman began speaking as she stood over her. Manager Kim's clothing had been practically burned off by the attack. Her chest was visible for the world to see.

"Had you not wasted all of your time destroying my barrier, you may have actually stood a chance. But, what can you do? Maybe you've just grown too soft." Ridiculing Manager Kim, the unnamed woman placed her foot down against the Manager's stomach, starting to apply pressure which made her fold over some, yelping in pain.

"STOP! ENOUGH!" A voice called out from the distance. It was the voice of Courtney, screaming for the woman to stop hurting her Manager. Before she could even do anything though, someone appeared directly behind her, grabbing her quickly. Both of her hands were **** behind her back by another robed figure who she didn't even see coming. Come to think of it, Courtney was barely even able to keep up with the fight happening at hand in general.
