Chapter 33

Dawn awakens
A bit earlier for you than normal
Your eyes fluttered awake with morning's first light entering the room. That was a bit odd, because usually the sun was a least fully up when you awoke. Then you remembered that it must be the new sleep trait taking effect.
What could you do, though? Amy likely wouldn't be up until around 10 or so, and it was only 5:30. You didn't know if anyone in her family was an early riser, and would catch the two of you (even though you really weren't doing anything), or if they all stayed in bed for a while. You didn't really want to have to wake her up either, she looked so peaceful laying there against you.
Then you remembered that because it was a Sunday, no one would be up that early. You recalled one time Amy said that no one in her family wakes up early on Sundays, using it as a rest day. That let you rest assured that no one would likely find you. Plus, you really doubt they'd come into your room, so you only had to worry about people going into her room and not seeing her there, which wouldn't really be a big issue either, unless Evelyn was going to be particularly nosy again.
But now you're back to the original question. What do you do with your newfound free time? It was natural. You saw the pop-up appear, so you should probably check the shop for what was new.
It's All Just Hearts and Roses
Cost: 150 Love Points
Effect: People can't explain why, but any romantic gestures that you make cause people to feel lust in addition to love.
What the fuck were "love points"? Were there two different types of currency?
Looking at your available points, you saw that now you had 50 Affection Points and 150 Love Points. That was good to know, that there were different types of currency. You guessed that because you got Amy's love score to 150, you were awarded this new currency. You could buy this right now to try and max out her lust score, but that would likely come naturally in the near future.
Magic Skin
Cost: 100 Affection Points
Effect: Your touch on another's skin feels amazing
Yeah, this one might be interesting at one point or another, but you didn't have enough points to buy it at that moment, and it's not like it was something you really needed.
A Helping Hand
Cost: 200 Affection Points
Effect: Small pop-ups appear, similar to the real-time Affection Multiplier updates, that give you hints on how to advance your relationship at the current moment.
Hey, it was that "helping hand" perk that you were really looking forward to getting! The only issue with this was the cost. If affection points worked how you thought they did (where you got 150 of them for completing a person's affection meter), then you would have to get another person to reach an affection score of 150 before you could buy this, which might be a bit difficult to do. Amy's was only that high because you had known her forever.
Well, looking through the shop proved to be pretty fruitless, but now you had a goal, which was to get another 150 affection points in order to buy that "Helping Hand" perk, because it was really useful when you had the trial version, and it wasn't like it was going to take months to get that amount of points. Heck, if you really tried hard, you might be able to get it while you were here, since your relationships progressed 5 times faster.
What else could you look at...ah, of course! The achievements menu! What did the Affection Multiplier think that your next few goals should be?
There was one achievement that was the same on the list: "Reach an affection score of 150 with two people". You guessed that the three traits that you unlocked corresponded to you completing the other three achievements. The new "tasks" that the game had for you were:
-
Get all three scores to 150 with one person
-
Reach a love score of 100 with two people
-
Reach 500 of any one type of points
Seriously? 500 of any one type of points? Did this include points that you had earned previously and spent, or did it mean that you had to, at that moment, have 500 unused points of any type. That was insane. You probably could do it with a different type of points other than affection points, because those seemed to be the most usable points, at least at the present time.
You shut the app down for now, not wanting it to take over your entire life. You shouldn't think about people as numbers on a screen, or think about this situation as just trying to complete these achievements and unlock benefits. Sure, the benefits were nice, and the information was nice, but these were real relationships that you were establishing with people, as was reinforced by Amy stirring in her sleep and grabbing on to you even more tightly. It was still only about 5:45 right now. You wished that the "Sleep Optional" trait was able to be disabled or something, because staying in bed for another 4 hours or so doing nothing, even though Amy was there with you, would start to get really old.
What do you do?
