A big day

Despite the unpleasant visit, things are surprisingly quiet leading up to the opening of the cafe. You even receive notes from a few neighbors congratulating the girls on their ventures, and wishing them good luck. Notably, you don’t hear from the small group that definitely doesn’t wish you well, and you take the silence as success.

When the opening day rolls around, there’s actually quite a crowd gathered. You took the day off work to be there, and you wait inside with the staff, the AWIO representative, and the girls. Rachel is there as well, to help oversee the opening, though she is too busy to spend much time talking. You hang out in the back room with Ellie and Mazzy, while Dakota runs around with Rachel making sure everything is ready for the doors to open.

While you’re waiting, you feel someone tap on your shoulder. Surprised, you whirl around and practically run into Kenna, who is behind you. The dragon girl laughs as you apologize. “It’s fine, last time I ran you over, it’s only fair!”

Mazzy giggles. “To be really fair, you need to show her your underwear, Brian!”

You blush, and Kenna laughs again. “That’s ok, you don’t need to. Maybe later, if you feel like it.”

She winks at you, and you blush even more. You hear both Mazzy and Ellie giggling at your embarrassment. You collect yourself and smile up at the tall dragon girl. “Maybe I’ll take you up on that. As Mazzy said, fair is fair.”

Kenna smiles and gently touches your shoulder. “I look forward to it! But I came over to say thank you, to all of you. This is such a great thing you’ve created here, and you should be proud.”

Mazzy and Ellie beam with happiness, clearly excited to receive the praise. As for yourself, you just shake your head. “Thank the girls. I didn’t really do anything.”

Kenna smiles at you. “I disagree! Mazzy has talked a lot about you, Brian, and I think it’s incredible what you’ve done for them. I hope I can find a sponsor just like you…”

She winks, and you realize that it’s Mazzy she’s winking at. Looking over at the halfling questioningly, you see her putting on her most innocent face. Now you KNOW she’s plotting something. What’s more surprising is the smile on Ellie’s face. The shy little goblin being in on things is definitely a new development.

In fact, Ellie is the one who speaks up. “I-I’m sure you’ll find s-someone, Kenna. Who knows, they m-might even be here t-today!”

All three girls are looking at you now, and you laugh. “You’re all terrible at subtlety, you know that?”

Kenna grins. “How’s this for subtle, then?”

She leans down and whispers in your ear. “Mazzy and Dakota shared some of your bedroom adventures with me. Maybe if you make them ask nicely, you could get a dragon mommy to join you.”

You shiver, and Kenna laughs yet again. You know that monster girls are very open about that sort of thing, but there’s something about the large dragon girl coming on to you so blatantly that caught you off guard. Still, despite your protests about living space, you’re sorely tempted to just immediately sponsor her. You know you’re not thinking clearly about it, but part of you says to go for it.

Before you can say anything, however, the door opens and Dakota and Rachel walk in. Rachel smiles and nods. “It’s time, we want everyone out front when we open up, ok?”

Everyone agrees, and starts to head out of the back. Before you leave, though, Kenna stops you.

“If we’re pressuring you, I apologize. I hope you’ll consider sponsoring me, though. All seducing aside, you’re a good person, and I would be honored to join you.”

With that, she leans down and kisses your cheek. Flashing a smile, she turns and walks out, leaving you to follow.
