A Tiny Reveal

Chapter 114 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

Emyri closed the window behind her, stretching her neck and feeling the night wind bounce off her body. Crawling further up to the top of the building, she found Syri cross-legged waiting for her. From her position under a large tree, she could overlook a big chunk of the main road of Kershin Market. The cold didn't seem to bother either of them, indicating that they have long grown use to mother nature. Where other creatures would put on cloaks or capes or coats, they preferred keeping bare.

"So, is there something you wanted to tell me or is this a sneaky maneuver to give your sister some alone time?"

Syri made a sound of disgust. "Gross mom, I don't need to hear that."

"Hey, you don't get to be all innocent anymore. Don't think I haven't noticed, you have been carrying her scent for some time now young lady." She smirked, bumping shoulders with her.

Syri blushed. "Quit it, mom. It's... th-that's not what I came out here for!"

"No, but that's what we're talking about no. Do you like her? Like, like her or like, like like her." She teased, making kissing noises at her baby before slapping her back and laughing. "It's fine dear, honest. But remember what I told N-... KuliKuli before-"

She made a face. "I don't know if I want a family mom, having babies and then raising them? Just feels like a lot, I don't think I'd be ready."

Emyri chuckled. "I never was! And don't think I woke one morning thinking hmmm, I want to be knocked up today! These things just happen, and suddenly life gives you something precious to care for. Two or three times, sometimes." She smirked.

"Gross. I don't want to hear it."

"Neither do I." Emyri jumped as Na'Vi landed behind them.

"Y-You! Don't you dare scare me like that again!" She slapped her arm numerous times, raising her voice with each word. "Do you know how scared we were? Look up, let me see your neck." She inspected her, looking all around and poking at her tummy.

Na'Vi giggled, pushing her paw. "Knock it off, I'm clean. I wasn't-" She breathed in. "I wasn't caught or anything, I saw where Leone took her."

"Yea, I found her earlier. She looks fine, but she can't get out. He has her leg chained, and she says he put something on her to keep her from changing into her cat mode. She's stuck."

Emyri was speechless, stuttering for words. "Ah. Uh. W-Well... well what do we-why aren't we.." She sighed, shaking her head. "He's there too I take it?"

She nods. "Him and some woman who lives there. I don't think she's involved much, but they're waiting. Did Nityri come with you guys?"

"What do you think?"

Na'Vi's ears dropped. "I don't think she should go, keep her distracted or something."

"No."

"He's going to recognize her-"

"No-"

"Mom, the pastor is coming!" Na'Vi shouted, holding herself back and inhaling. "I don't want Nityri to get caught again."

Syri frowned. "She wouldn't have been caught in the first place if you two hadn't broken the rules before."

"I already told you, that was Nityri on her own. I couldn't stop her so I went with-"

"Yea I've heard it before but still!"

"Behave yourselves!" Emyri shouted, pushing them apart. "Na'Vi, I'm glad your safe but Kuli isn't going to stay behind without questioning things. I doubt you could convince her yourself, and Syri. Bickering about the past isn't going to help anyone here. Now I would much like to go see Dimyri, and I think you should stay behind."

"But Mom-!"

"Zip it! You girls are my priority and you are going to stay here just for a few minutes, okay?"

Syri huffed and crossed her arms. "Fine."

"Thank you. Na'Vi lead the way. Na'Vi?" She approached her, Na'Vi was peeking over the edge with wide eyes. Following her gaze, she gasped and recoiled.

"Mom, guys? What is it-" Syri asked, walking up to them and covering her mouth in time to avoid yelling in fright. From where they stood, at the bottom level in front of the bar was a horse carriage followed by numerous horses being tied to the posts out front by a few large men wearing shiny armor and a red chest piece. On their saddles and painted at the side of the carriage was an infamous insignia, one that Emyri had known for years, one that regrettably her family had now grown familiar with. A golden flower with a blood red chalice at its center, wrapped by a white ribbon at its waist.

"Mom, is that?"

"It is." Na'Vi confirmed with a shaky voice. "It's the pastor."
