Chapter 164

“Oh no, it's the rebels! We gotta get out of here!” yelled the leader as he turned tail and ran away while his lackey quickly followed suit.
A New Ally and Unexpected Reinforcements
Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Tenebris
“I’m booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooored” Mimi said as she and Yatina laid on the grassy plains outside the castle town and stared at the clouds.
“Hi bored, I’m Yatina!” Yatina said in a joking manner as she made a silly face at her best friend.
“Nooooooooooooo! That’s not what I mean!!!” Mimi says in a pouting tone. They stayed silent for a few moments before they burst out in laughter.
“I wonder where John is?” Mimi wondered.
“Maybe Mama Brenda knows?” asked Yatina as she referred to the adult that supervised their trip out to the plains. Mimi shot up at the mention of Brenda as a potential way to find John.
“Great idea, Yaya!” Mimi said enthusiastically. “You’re so smart!” she said with pride about her bestest friend in the whole wild world.
“Yay! Let’s go find her!” Yaya said as she got up, grabbed Mimi’s hand, and the two skipped off to where Brenda had set up shop to do her work while still able to supervise the two young derps.
“Miss Brenda!”
“Mama Brenda!”
“Mama Brenda!”
“Miss Brenda!” The two derps alternated names for the Head of State as she sat in her portable chair and desk to work on the stacks of paperwork that lay before her.
“Hmm?” Brenda mumbled as she looked up from the stack of papers to see a green and purple blur bounce toward her location. “Oh, is that my two little darlings calling out for me?” asked Brenda as she stretched her arms behind her back.
“Mama Brenda, where’s John?” asked Mimi.
“Yeah! We haven’t played with him in foooooooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever!” Yaya told the older woman as she stretched out her arms as far as they could go when she stretched out the word forever. Mimi nodded next to her and stretched her arms out as well to emphasize just how long it had been.
“Oh, sweeties, I’m sorry but John can’t play with you today,” Brenda sadly told the girls. “He’s very busy right now. You remember our guest, Shelly?” Brenda asked the two young girls. The two nodded their heads. “Well, her big sister disappeared and she asked John to help find her. Now, would you two want to find big sis Miho or Mikuru if they went missing, wouldn’t you?” The derps’ quickly formed faces of horror as they pictured their big sis’ Miho and Mikuru suddenly disappearing from their lives.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” the two yelled in unison as they began to run around in a panic. Curiously enough, the two derps ran in a pattern that formed sneks during their panic.
“Now, now, girls, calm down. The twins are perfectly fine,” Brenda said in an attempt to calm the two derps as they continued their panicked run.
“We gotta help John!” Mimi said as she continued her movements.
“Yeah! We gotta help Miss Shelly find her big sis cause that’s what we’d do if our big sis’ diserperred!” Yaya said as she fluttered around the area.
“JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHN!” the two yelled as they ran right into each other. The moment they touched, a blinding light illuminated from their position as a pop-up screen appeared in front of them right before the two were gone. Brenda blinked her eyes a couple of times until they refocused from the light only to see the two derps were gone.
“Uh, girls, where are you?” Brenda called out. “Girls, come on out!” Brenda said, a hint of worry in her voice. “Girls?! GIRLS?! WHERE ARE YOU?!” she said in a full blown panic as she began to frantically look for the missing derps.
Back in the Isekei’d world
“We should be safe here,” the tall lion-man said to John and his group. They fled to a cave that had illuminated light bulbs that stuck out of the walls like it was just a natural part of every cave.
“So...uh...anyone else notice the working lightbulbs in the wall?” asked Shelly as she looked at them. “Or the goddamn trolley car we passed on the way here?”
“Like, this place is weird with a capital W,” Sam replied to Shelly.
“This is all quite normal here in the Digital World,” the creature said, which confirmed what John had thought since they first went through the strange portal to the Digital World. “I am Leomon. And I’m all that remains of the Resistance in this area. We were wiped out in our last attempt to take the fortress of this area. This area is ruled by Bastemon, a powerful perfect level virus type digimon. Bastemon used it’s Helter Skelter attack to charm much of our forces, causing them to attack us while she either had her army of witchmon to finish off both sides or did it herself with her powerful Vampire Dance attack. I barely escaped with my life when my good friend Centalmon sacrificed its own life to ensure I got away. I implore you, strangers, join the Rebellion and help us overthrow Bastemon and its master, the Digimon Empress!” Leomon pleaded to John and his friends.
“I will discuss it with my friends, if you’d give us a moment,” John said to Leomon, in an attempt to be diplomatic with a potential new ally. He and the girls all moved slightly away from the beast man digimon and to a corner to talk in private.
“I think we should help them,” started John. “It seems like the only way to get out of this barrier is to defeat this Digimon Empress,” pointed out John.
“And how do you plan on us doing that, Mr. King, if none of us can use our magic?” Shelly retorted. John had to admit that Shelly had a good point. Without their powers, it would be hard for them to do anything. However, thanks to John’s unique magic, he suspected that there is a chance for him to gain a new module that will work in this area.
“Good point. But what do you suggest, huh? Sit around in this cave until this Digimon Empress finds us and who knows what to us?” countered John.
“He tots has a point, Shellz,” Sam told her newest friend. “We, like, can’t just sit around waitin’ for these guys to come to us,” she commented to the group, who nodded in agreement.
“Ok fine, I give up, we’ll go with Wes’ plan,” Shelly said. “Unless you got a better idea, Gali?” suggested Shelly in hopes that the elf had come up with an alternate plan.
“I’m afraid I must defer to my lord’s plan,” she told the disheartened guest of the kingdom. Shelly let out a sigh of **** as she agreed to the very bare bones plan to help the digimon.
“Ok, glad we all agree to this, right Shelly?” John asked, just to make sure she was on board with the plan.
“Yeah, yeah, this is what we gotta do. I just hope it gets better,” said Shelly.
“I think it will,” John told her as the group headed back to Leomon. “We have decided to aid you in your battle against Bastemon and the Digimon Empress. Although we currently lack our ability to use magic, I’m sure we can find a way to regain those abilities,” John told his new ally while he mentally added I hope to the end of the sentence he just said.
As soon as John finished his sentence, a bright light flashed outside the cave entrance, its brightness blinded the group briefly before they could rush out to see what caused such a light show.
“Like, I hope, those wacha calls its haven’t returned,” Sam said as she ran along with the others.
“Goburimon,” John told her as they continued to the entrance.
“Should we really be rushing to see what that probable enemy did?” Shelly asked, once again with no wish to confront danger head on.
“I understand you are out of your element here, young one,” Gali told the roguish girl, “but there are times when spying is no good and a direct confrontation is required. This is one of those times,” Gali explained to the young girl.
“Ok fine, you’re right. I just don’t like being useless in fights with my magic, so its even worse when nobody can use magic!” a frustrated Shelly told the group.
“We understand, Shelly, but we gotta keep moving forward,” John told her as he reached the end of the cave first. There his jaw dropped as he saw a scene that baffled his mind. There, before him, were two derps he left in the care of his mother holding two digitamas.
“Mimi?! Yatina?! What are you two doing here?!” a baffled John asked in a completely dumbfounded state.
“John?” said Mimi as her head perked up from resting on the digitama as if she was listening to what was inside it.
“John!” finished Yatina as she jumped up and ran over to the very confused adult who somehow caught Yatina while she still held her own egg over her head. Mimi quickly followed and jumped up onto John who he caught in his other arm, just barely able to stay standing up.
“My my, what are you two cutie pies doing here?” Gali asked with a warm smile as she went over and gave the two derps pats and kisses, which they were very ecstatic to receive.
“We missed John!” said one.
“So we got sad, and cried, and ran around, and then we were here!” said the other one.
“With eggs!” said the first one.
“They taste funny!” said one as she licked it.
“And smell funny!” says the other as she sniffed it.
“Those are very rare digitama,” Leomon said as he moved close to the two derps and their eggs, as they still clung to John. “May I see those eggs, young ones?” Leomon asked the two derps who stared in awe at the lion man that stood before them.
“Mimi...it’s a doggie that walks and talks!” Yatina told her best friend.
“I knoooooooooow! It’s so cute!” she said. “Ooooh! Do we have treats for the doggie?!” Mimi asked Bob who shook his head at Mimi.
“Mr. Doggie, can we pet you?” the two asked in unison.
“I..uh..um..” Leomon stuttered as he was not sure what just happened.
“Yeah, they have that effect on people when they first meet someone,” John told the digimon. “I’m gonna let you down now girls, ok?” John asked as the two nodded at him. “Ok girls, let my new friend Leomon see those digitama you are holding. He knows a bit about them and can probably tell you what’s inside!” John told the two derps as he put them down. Like the good girls they are, they nodded at John and quickly made their way to Leomon.
“Here you go Mr. Doggie!” Mimi said as she held up her digitama to Leomon.
“Let us know if we have a new friend in there please!” Yatina said as she held her digitama up, right next to her best friend’s own digitama.
“Well I’ll be. These digitama contain some very rare and powerful digimon. You two are lucky to have such powerful friends waiting for you. Let’s see what we can do about hatching these digitama, yes?” Leomon told the two derps.
