A Mini Boss Already!?

"What the hell?" Liz says as she tries to open the door. Suddenly then the wall to our right open like it did with the Fire Minotaur Mini Boss.

"Why are we in a Boss room!? This is the first room!" Myla shouts confused.

"We can talk later! Get ready!" Hino shouts as the wall stops opening. Out walks a giant dog. It's at least double my height. It's fur is all black and it has three heads.

"It's a Cerberus!" I hear Liz shout and I Observe it.

"Well Eric, how's it look?" Hino asks and I sigh.

"It's got more health than the Wyvern and no elemental weaknesses. However it has only one max mana so it won't use spells." I answer.

"That's because it's incredibly strong. Possibly the strongest monster in terms of raw strength." Liz replies and I sigh.

"Great, so we're stuck with possibility the strongest monster know to exist." I say before the beast roars. I suddenly get an idea and turn to Liz.

"Can you trap it? For even a few seconds?" I ask her.

"Why? And no. It'll break them instantly. The best I could do is slow it down."

"Okay, when I signal you to, trap it in as many roots as you can." I say and she looks at me confused and terrified but nods. I take a deep breath and charge the beast. It does the same and the others scatter. I jump while taking my wings out and flying. I cast Ancient Beastial Strength and fly down on its center head. I try to impale my blade into its head but it notices me and leaps ahead. Unfortunately for it, the Agility boost I got from my enhancement made me faster than it thought. I land and push my blade deep into the bottom of its back.

It roars in rage and anger as I pull my Katana out and cut it again.

I beat my wings and jump away, not wanting to turn this into one of those rodeo bull riding games. I smile as I see an Ancient Beast Slash cut into its side and turn to see Luna, standing on the other side of the room.

I see it turn and charge at Luna. She runs to dodge but isn't fast enough.

"LIZ DO IT NOW!" I shout and Blink to the right of the beasts heads. A moment after I see roots start to soot out of the ground. I cast Dark Chains and Vine Trap, hoping for even another tenth of a second. I see the roots surround it as chains of water and light join mine. I smile and the beast gets stuck. I see the chains start to crack and reach out before I cast Annihilation Ray. A ball of energy appears in my hand and sends a beam through the beasts heads right as the chains and roots break. I land on the ground and see the Cerberus turn around to face me. I see that it's two side heads are limp and dead but it's center one is still moving. It roars and opens its mouth to bite me. I jump above it and it slides forward. I see it turn around and jump at me. It moves to fast and I can't dodge. So instead I cast two Ancient Beast Slashes and send them at it.

I feel the beasts body crash into mine and I fall. I hear someone shout my name before I crash but can't make out who it was.

The body on top of me fades away and I immediately see Luna. She pulls me up and hugs me tightly.

"Are you okay!?" Myla asks running over to me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you guys?" I ask and they all say their fine. "Oh thank god." I say and start petting Luna.

"That was amazing." Hino says quietly, and I barely hear her.

"It was pretty cool. Just wait until our parents hear we slew a Cerberus." Myla says and they laugh.

"Don't mean to rain on your parade here but, the door behind us is still shut." Liz says.

"What! Why is it shut!?" Hino asks to no one in particular.

"This a Ruins trap." Liz starts before sighing. "It's pretty rare though. But it essentially means we're trapped. But it also means that we should have a Safe Zone next." She points to the door, opposite of where we came from.

"What's after that?" Luna asks and Liz sighs again.

"The exit. But in the way is the Floor Boss. These traps are always on the last floor, but like I said, they're rare. Only a handful of all known Ruins have had these traps."

"Good, we're stuck in here with a boss that is gonna be so much stronger than us and we don't have any food!" Myla says, her fear taking over.

"Myla. MYLA!" I say to get her attention. "Take a deep breath, freaking out won't help." She does as I say and calms down a little. "And besides, I do have food." I say taking out my Fishman Jerky I made. "Good old Fishman Jerky." She smiles and laughs quietly. "Good, now let's take a look around and see if the Cerberus left anything behind. Then we'll go to the Safe Zone to recharge our mana before taking on the Boss." I say and the girls nod in agreement.
