A Humble Beginning Of A Soul Eating Dragon

One, two, three. I batter the highschooler’s face as he’s pinned to the wall. “Stop!” the girl cries out, pleading for mercy. Pausing, I turn around, grabbing her blouse and with a quick tug, sent several buttons flying, “You’ll get your turn soon enough so for your part, I’d keep quiet if I was you, unless you want it to be worse.” With that my friends yank on her arms, twisting them and grinding them against the alley wall, causing her to scream in pain. Her boyfriend, his situation mirroring hers, just quietly watches, and I can tell from experience, he’s happy he got a reprieve. If he could, he’d happily let me do anything to her, if it meant he was spared any more pain… despite the guilt that would and is eating at him. It infuriates me, and I give a quick kick to his gut. He wasn’t expecting it and nearly throws up from the blow, as I grab his hair. “You really are a piece of shit, aren’t you? Guess you can only stand up to a little girl, huh? Makes you feel like you’re not a complete bitch. Isn’t that right?”

He doesn’t respond verbally, but his eyes looks away and down as he begins to tremble. The muscles in my arm tighten as my other hand clenches into a fist… but my phone buzzes, and after a growl of displeasure, I pull it out, noticing the caller id. I let out a long breath, as the tension leaves my muscles. Standing up I walk to the end of the alleyway, resting on the rail overlooking the river dozens of meters below. Far enough that the whimpers won’t be picked up, as I accept the call. “Yeah Mum?”

Instead of an answer I was greeted by sobbing. I pause, gripping the guard rail as my attention is instantly focused on the call, “What happened? Mom! What’s going on?”

“Saku… Sakurai is gone!” Wha..t? Was this a joke? No… she wouldn’t… but… that… can’t… be real. My mind races, as my jaw hangs open, as the sobbing continues. “What? Happened? Mom, what happened to Sakurai?”

“She… she was walking home, and she was hit by a truck. She… she… instantly… d… died” She finally admitted. I felt my grip on my phone slip for a moment. Then I hear some shouting and tussling behind me. I turn around and notice the highschooler charging at me, with a dead-eyed stare locked on me. I flinch at the unnatural glare, but quickly threw a quick hook, catching him in the temple… and he didn’t react. His palm striking me in the chest. I felt… heard popping, as I am pressed back into the railing. And then further. With a loud crumbling sound the railing’s anchors were **** through the concrete wall, and free. And I found myself in the air… Time stilled as I try to process what happened, the kid’s eyes turn to fear as he flinches back from what he done. Anger overtook me as my arm flew out. Grabbing his, and with a quick tug, we both were falling into the dark waters below. And I barely felt the impact before I was knocked out cold.

I jerked back to life, confused. I was in danger. I understood that much. But my body didn’t want to move… It was dark, and I could barely see anything. And I am not sure which was up. I was surrounded by little bubbles capturing what little light there was as they dance around me. I had no air in my lungs. It hurt. Everything hurt. I try to swim, but my panicked movements were little more then flailing.

The last of the light faded, as the burning in my lungs lost to the growing coldness… the struggle turned to unnatural stillness. This… is ****? Everything faded except for the feeling of falling. Deeper and deeper into the abyss.
