A Hellish and Perverted Mirror Reality

For the longest moment, she could neither hear nor see anything. Tried as she might to move, her body remained perfectly still, and felt so incredibly cold. It was so cold that she could almost feel her teeth chattering, but even then, her jaw felt as if it slacked in an unnatural position, strangely disjointed below her cheekbones. No words could describe the initial panic and confusion. Her mind raced. All manner of questions and nonsensical deliriums flooded her thoughts. All manner of memories flashed before her eyes, from the moment she was born from her mother's womb until the moment she was staring down the headlights of the pick-up that came barreling for her car 18 years later. When her eyes finally decided to fly open, her breath desperately dragged in an icy cool in the air. She writhed and wriggled, coughing and heaving heavily, finding herself on the floor, struggling to fill her lungs with much needed oxygen. Rolling to her side, she felt the asphalt of the road beneath her hands, gingerly attempting to push herself up. Unsteady on her feet, she stumbled backwards to fall flat on her rear. Several more times she tried, falling and crawling about, trying to scream at the top of her somehow distant voice for help, in the faintest glimmer of hope that if she was able to move, she was still alive.

When her eyes adjusted to clear away the strange fog that kept her from seeing, she was greeted by a far different reality. As she slowly rose to her feet, she found herself on the city road where she had been driving. There was no sign of her car or the truck. Not even a skid mark from when both drivers attempted to swerve out of the way. Last she could hazily recall, there were witnesses. The entire local population of 7th Street would have seen or heard the accident occur, right in plain sight of the traffic lights, but not a soul was present. Wherever she turned her gaze, there was no one in sight. No one was dining in the restaurant across the street, hot food and drinks still sitting idly on empty tables. No one was out for walks in the park, the leaves undisturbed and pathways devoid of the barking of dogs or the squealing of young children. The city night lights were on, but the usual hustle and bustle of her favorite city was dead silent. What disturbed her most was the reddish tinge in the sky, which certainly was not there before. Her once familiar surroundings had become something else unknown, sending a unnerved shiver down her spine.

"Carrie?" She called out, unsure if it was a good idea to do so. She was surprised that she could speak. A quick check of her jaw and she found that it was still in the right place.

A low mumble groaned nearby, "Kirsty!"

Whipping around, she saw her friend closeby who had just sat herself up behind her. The first thing she noticed was the lack of any clothing covering her small and delicate frame. The next was the lack of any form of injury on her body. Looking down, she too found herself completely stripped of her dignity, albeit in perfect shape, gasping and glowing an embarrassed shade of red. Attempting to cover herself up, she hurried over to Carrie to help her.

"What's going on?" Her friend groggily mumbled, still shaking off the haze to notice her nakedness, "Kirsty? You there?"

"I'm here, babe." She whispered to her hurriedly, consumed by a sudden desire to make themselves scarce, like any reflex to finding oneself naked on the open street, "I'm here! I don't know what's going on but we gotta go! Come on!"

"What the-Why are you naked?" Carrie immediately noticed, her blurry eyes widening, and spared no hesitation to join Kirsty in her run for cover.
