A Framework
Consuela held Douglas's hand, looking at him firmly. She was old enough to be his mother, and for many years as his housekeeper, she'd witnessed behavior she simply wouldn't accept as his wife. And he needed to know that.
"Douglas ... are you aware of female led relationships?" she asked, as Douglas finished dessert.
"Huh?" he asked. "What do you mean?"
"I remember how you handled your father's discipline. And to be honest dear ... you weren't the best husband to Elizabeth." Douglas just stared at her wide-eyed. "I want more control. And I want you to submit." Consuela concluded.
"I mean ... why? I thought we had a good thing going," Douglas said.
"We do. But you screw things up, dear. You always have, and you always will. I see how you've looked at other women. I want to be the only woman in your life, Douglas. And do that, I need control."
Douglas looked at her, and thought he dare not say no.
