A Bottle of Water and a Sandwich

Barbara waited patiently as Dave put together a sandwich for himself. "Alright..." Dave placed a piece of bread on top of his sandwich and turned back to Barbara. "I know it's not Giada quality, but it's not terrible." Dave held up the plate that his sandwich sat on. "Now..." Dave walked over to his little kitchen table and sat down his sandwich. "Since I am going to have lunch I figured you might like something to drink." Dave glanced over at the 6 bottles of water sitting on the counter.

Barbara's eyes went wide. "Those are for me!!!" Barbara said excitedly.

"Yup. I picked them up for you." Dave walked over and grabbed the Essentia Water. "I saw this and figured you might like something a bit better than tap water to drink." Barbara's eyes were transfixed on the bottle in Dave's hands. "And then I decided to pick you up a few different brands to try." Dave motioned to the other bottles on the counter.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Barbara exclaimed as she stood there shifting back and forth on her feet.

Dave let out a chuckle. "Wow you're really excited aren’t you?" Dave asked as he grinned at Barbara.

Barbara eagerly nodded at Dave. "Yes!!!! They look so yummy!!!!" Dave just smiled at her and handed her the bottle. Barbara dropped her blanket and eagerly snatched the bottle from Dave's hand. "Can I?!?! Can I?!?!" Dave nodded yes, and Barbara quickly unscrewed the top of the bottle and began to chug the water.

As the water poured from the bottle and into Barbara's mouth Dave had a realization. "She's not breathing..." Dave thought as he watched on in amazement. "She's not even really swallowing..." Dave's mouth hung wide open as Barbara finished off the bottle of water. "That's the weirdest thing I think I've ever seen..." Dave thought to himself.

With her head still tilted back Barbara lowered the bottle from her lips and slowly tilted her head forward to look at Dave. "OOOooooo...." Barbara cooed. "That was delicious." Barbara's face was a mixture of pleasure and relief. "Thank you for that. It really hit the spot." Barbara said as she wiped a drop of water from the corner of her mouth.

"I'm... I'm glad you liked it." The words just kind of fell out of Dave's mouth. He was still trying to process everything he had just witnessed.

"O I loved it!" Barbara said looking at the empty bottle in her hands and then looking back up at Dave. "Thank you..." Barbara paused as a confused look came across her face.

"Barbara what is it?" Dave asked.

Barbara gently shook her head. "Nothing... I'm fine... I..." Barbara again paused.

"Barb?..." Dave rushed over to Barbara. "Hey are you alright?" Dave asked as he leaned down to look her in the eyes.
