24. She hears silence

She waits a beat and hears nothing on the other side. She thanks the gods for her luck so far and slowly opens the door. On the other side is an entry hall befitting royalty. The mage must think fairly highly of himself. His crest adorns the walls in massive banners and the hall is lined with suits of armor. Some of them glow with enchantments and Malene takes a moment to see if there are any traps or spells waiting for a hapless person like herself to walk through.
