“Well well well.”
Thera is still on the ground when she feels something hook her leg and roll her onto her back. Towering over her is an older human man with dark hair just starting to grow grey at the temples. His eyes are entrancing: a sharp blue that seems to bore into Thera.
“Drow are rare in these parts.” He sounds almost hungry for her. “Even if he ran, that damn lizard did catch me a pretty prize.”
It’s then that Thera sees the rope noose he holds in one hand, just as he tosses it toward her neck.
