“Ayoo, whats up, party people. I’m yo boy, Vincent.”

At least that’s what I planned to say.

I only got as far as “Ay…”

Then, I was rudely interrupted by one of the court-mages.

“W-wait a minute!” The court mage exclaimed. “A seventh? Why is there a seventh?!”

“What seems to be the problem, mage?” King Leoric asked.

“My liege, we only summoned six heroes. But it would seem a seventh has appeared!” Another mage said.

“Hmmm,” said the king, “How curious. Go on then, seventh hero, show us what otherworldly abilities that you possess?”

My mind raced to think. Firstly, with the amount of priests in this room, it is obvious that these people are deeply religious, so it would definitely be a bad idea to mention that Godslayer thing. Secondly, alchemist sounds a little underwhelming. Isn’t that just a crafting class?

Hence there seems to be only one obvious answer to me. “Summoner,” I said out loud, “I am a Summoner.”

“A summoner?” The king asked, frowning. “A rare ability to be sure, but nevertheless, not a very useful one. What can you summon?”

I wonder about that myself.

All of a sudden, something clicked in my mind. In a split second, it felt like an entire database had open up in side my head. I had the knowledge of an entire exhaustive compendium of fantastic beasts, creatures, beings, and more, all at the tip of my tongue. I suddenly knew what I am capable of summoning, and the answer seems to be…

“Everything…” I mumbled.

“What?” The king asked.

“That would be impossible,” The sorceress named Anastasia said haughtily. “When it comes to summoning, a soul can only be bound to a single familiar per lifetime.”

I suddenly realized that I may be way over my head here. To be safe, I decided to just pick one thing to summon for now. I reasoned that it would need to be something powerful enough to put me on par with the heroes and also something that would dazzle the king’s mages or his priests. God knows what they would do to me if they considered me a fluke.

The obvious solution quickly came to my head, and I instinctively raised my hand. “Come,” I whispered.

An enormous golden summoning circle formed above me like a halo and a humanoid creature wearing gold armor and a white hood appeared. It had two massive wing s with golden feathers and was wielding an enormous fiery sword in one hand. The creature hovered above my head and passed judgmental looks on everyone.

There was an immediate uproar in the king’s hall.

“It’s an angel!” People were screaming.

There seems to be a general lack of consensus on how to react to this. Some people fell to their knees and prayed. Others stood rooted to the ground with their jaws hanging. Some even burst into tears.

Ah shit, did I overdo it? I wondered.

I instinctively knew how to dismiss my summons, so I did it. The angel vanished in a flash of golden light and clap of thunder.

“To be able to call upon the servants of the gods themselves. This seventh hero too is undoubtedly S class,” the head priest announced in a shaky voice.”

The king beamed. “To think that we even got a bonus seventh hero out of this. Our sacrifices were well worth it.”

Exhaling with relief, I went to join the other heroes.

I noticed Caleb, the saint guy, giving me a hard, serious glare as I went to stand beside him.

King Leoric resumed addressing the hall. “You have all seen the power of our seven heroes. In honor of their coming we shall have a seven day feast! Let the word spread of what you have seen here today. Let hope once again fester within the people! And more importantly, may our adversaries tremble at the news and know that we have in our possession, their very bane!”

Cheers erupted throughout the hall.
