Chapter 4 by B00BTUB3 B00BTUB3

Bad End

[Author's Notes]

What is it about generic high fantasy that sucks the fun out of writing something? I really don't get it, because I love reading stories either based off the setting or at least inspired by it: Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, R. A. Salvatore novels, Re:Monster, Overlord, Arifureta, How Not to Use Healing Magic, Redo of Healer, Rising of the Shield Hero. All good stuff, but the moment I start writing it, I just find that I don't care for the setting or characters. Is it because I make it too generic? The thought's worth pursuing.

Anyways, I at least got to write an orc warlord using a proud elven warrior like an onahole. Always wanted to do that. I also accidentally made elves Nazis with the whole 'ethnic cleansing' bit. No idea where the fuck that came from, but it oddly fits. That tends to happen when you write off the seat of your pants, you let your subconscious take over for a hot second, only to go over it later and be like, "What the fuck was that??" but then you think it over and go, "No, no. He's got a point."

I'll probably not be revisiting this story other than to flesh it out for my blog or something. It doesn't have to be anything more than a self-contained short story.
