Storylines that take place within the main setting but focus on different people belong in the "characters" category. Could be the same start but with a female protagonist or someone a thousand miles away where pets are treated differently. Storylines that require bigger changes to the setting, like making male pets as common as female pets or giving them physical transformations, belong in the "settings" category.
