(World stories) Background lore

These are short stories with small details of the world that will likely not be mentioned in the main story for one reason or another.

Bikini armor:

It was the first female blacksmith I had seen and was surprised that she had bikini armor proudly displayed in front of her shop in all kinds of different sizes and materials.

“Wouldn’t it be better to cover up more?” I asked inevitably wondering what kind of logic it was to go into battle with basically nothing covered but your tits.

“Silly you, defence has nothing todo with the amount covered everyone knows that but instead with the magic enchantment and materials used.”

“That is unless you are cheap and use simple leather or metal plates without any enchantment.”

“Good quality armor reinforces your body directly and the higher quality the fabric/material used the stronger the defence. Mixing lower with higher quality fabric most often leads to subpar properties that's why most professional adventures choose to wear a skimpier outfit made from high quality materials with higher defensive properties and allowing for greater mobility. Only an idiot would choose to fully cover themselves for the same price with lower quality materials only to then have a lower defence overall.”

“As you can see I have no trouble working in front of my furnace like this as neither the heat not the sparks do me any harm because my gears protective properties are applied to me directly.”

“I see, but what about those guys there.” I pointed to a male group of adventures. Pretty much covered from head to toe similar to the guards.

“Pff” She harrumphed:” Well, man are idiots and cheapskates they would rather throw their money away for booze and woman instead of investing in their armour. After they spend the majority of their earnings they come by and can barely afford to buy pieces and end up covered from head to toe in low quality gear.”

As is clearly illustrated here it is better to use a small amount of the highest quality gear with high defensiv buffs instead of uselessly covering oneself in bulky armour. Both cost the same so what would you wear?

Of course men are willing to make some sacrifices to look cool, or instead opt for a mix of both body buffs and actual defensive armour which is both more expensive and less effective than a perfectly acceptable bikini armour but at-least they get to look cool and isn’t that what counts.
