Chapter 9 by munis munis

What's next?

(GM) A bountiful brook and baffling being.

1d20 = 18 (lucky you....)

You walk for an hour or two without finding anything of interest. You are starting to grow hungry and thirsty when you hear the faint sound of flowing water. You follow the sound to discover a very small brook. The stream is small, but the water is crystal clear, and it's banks are surrounded by a multitude of bushes laden various barries. As you approach you see an animal about the size of a small dog, but with fur and coloration closer to a badger or racoon near a bush of red berries. It scurries off into the underbrush as you approach, leaving behind squished berries and little red pawmarks.

The berries come in many shapes and colors. All are small, it would likely take some time to pick enough to make enough to represent a full meal, that doesn't stop your stomach growling at the sight of the berries. Unfortunately there is still the question as to which berries might be safe to eat. You walk around doing a quick inspection hoping you might recognize some of the plants or berries, but none look familiar to you.

Just as you finish the inspection you hear the sound of movement in the woods. You turn to see another human approaching out of the woods. He is short with a little paunch to his stomach, but otherwise not bad looking. He wears a plan shirt and pants that fit him loosely and a large straw hat that would seem like it would get in the way in these woods. He stops a distance away from you, wide eyed with a large jolly smile plastered on his face.

"Hello hello! What a strange women to encounter today. oh no need to fear me, I just wish to talk and play. Perhaps I could share with you which berries one may eat without getting sicker, if you would simple share some of your liquor?"

How do you respond to this strange man?
