'Healing' Potions

This branch was written over at Fiction.Live by myself. The images were also created for the story, so I don't have a source for them. I have more planned, and will add my own additions, but if at any point you'd like to break off and write your own chapter then be my guest. That's the original intention of the Snowball format.

"Over this way! There's a clearing!" Anna cleared the path, stamping down some shrubs to allow her party through. Putting her knife back in the holster around her wrist, the Elven Rogue smiled, holding a hand out as a friendly gesture to allow her friends through first.

"Ngh... Thanks..." Aldric Grunted, holding his side as he limped by. He was so used to being the leader around here, but since their last stop at that cursed village he had to give over his duties. His heavy armor grinded against itself, many edges dented in and misshapen.

Behind the Knight, Rowan followed suit, his spirits high as usual. Holding most of the group's supplies on his back, he thanked Anna for helping them along today. "I know it's been tough, but maybe we can finally get some rest." He said with a genuine bright smile, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Waiting a few more seconds, Anna frowned a bit and looks down the path they made for themselves. "Hey Nyra... you coming?" She could hear chanting in the distance, before a purple glow shown in the deep woods. Just a few seconds later the last member of their group came jogging up. With a confused look on her face, the Elf stopped her from just passing by. "Hey, what were you doing?"

"Oh... I know I said this earlier, but I really don't trust that saleswoman. Those potions were way too cheap for her to make a profit... I was just making sure we weren't followed."

Anna nodded her head, but still looked a bit skeptical. "I don't know... You think she'd follow us this long? We got those things yesterday."

"Just being safe" The witch said with a smile before heading into the clearing.

Heading in behind her, Anna looked around and followed the sentiments of her party. This definitely looked like a great place to stay for a while. A bright green field in the middle of such a dense forest, they couldn't possibly have found a better spot to rest. It was a good thing they found it when they did too, Aldric wasn't doing too hot, even if he didn't want to admit that fact...
