Setting Up Camp

After almost an hour of work, the group was finally almost done setting up camp. Sitting down by the fire pit, Rowan tried to get a fire going. He had a small amount of kindling in his bag, mostly just dead grass and tree bark that they found in the forest. Looking around here, the grass was lush and full, very soft looking.

Nearby, Anna appeared from the edge of the thick trees, rolling out a pair of logs. With all of her might, she was barley able to get them near the pit. They were too big to burn, but they made excellent seating, and if they really needed to they could chop them up and add them to the fire later. "So, is he doing any better?" Anna asked while plopping down on her own seat.

glancing back at Aldric, Rowan shrugged. "Not really, but he still won't drink any of the potions, doesn't trust em'."

Anna sighed and wiped the sweat from her forehead. "At this rate I don't know if he has a choice..." With a deep breath, she raised her voice. "Aldric, you gotta drink one if you want to feel better! There won't be anywhere we can bring you for a while!"

For a moment Aldric didn't move, but soon he moved his head to glance over. "Like I told the bard, I'm... *cough* fine..."

"Yeah, you REALLY look like it." Anna rolled her eyes, before turning her attention to the empty spot in their little setup. "Where's Nyra?"

Pointing a finger to a nearby river, Rowan smiled. "Still trying to safeguard the area. That merchant really has both of them worried..."

Anna could see that familiar purple glow coming from over the tall grass. "Yeah, I don't get that... why?"

Rowan chuckled. "Really? It did seem a bit suspicious, we got basically her entire stock for nothing. Back in the day I could've found that change sitting on the tavern floor. And the way she was pushing for it? If Aldric wasn't already hurt, there's no way he would've let you buy those."

Anna's cheeks flushed as she clutched one of the potions around her hip, they were small so it was easy to add them to her arsenal. "W-well... He was the reason I bought them, he needs to get better so we can get better and actually get to the next town!" Her voice sounded a bit argumentative. She had just been the defacto leader for a few days, and already the group had decided she wasn't doing a good job. She needed some way to prove she could handle the role... even temporarily.
