"They're right outside."

"Reg says they're pulling right up to the parking lot right now," Veronica said with a slight hint of disappointment in her voice.

"We'll see!" Beth said skeptically.

A minute later two young men walked up to their table and kissed Beth and Veronica. "Sorry we're late," the red-haired freckled face man said, not taking his eyes off of Marlissa.

"Hi, I'm Reggie," the dark-haired man offered his hand to Ryan, who could tell from his strong handshake that he was a jock.

"Hey there fellow ginger, I'm Archer," Beth's boyfriend introduced himself, shaking Marlissa's hand.

"I'm Ryan and this is my wife, Samantha," Ryan said, shifting his seat closer to his wife to make room for the two guys at the table. "We're new in town and your girlfriends kept us company."

"We're newlyweds," Marlissa announced excitedly, showing off her rings proudly to the two couples. At the sight of the diamond engagement ring Beth and Veronica jabbed their boyfriends with their elbows and gave them dirty looks.

"You're a lucky dog, man," Reggie whispered slyly to Ryan.

"Thanks," Ryan said, unable to reveal the truth of Marlissa's true nature.

"So what brings you newlyweds to our small town?" Archer asked curiously. "It's not your typical honeymoon destination."

"I'm an archaeologist and we were just traveling through from a dig site," Ryan lied.

"So you dig up dinosaur bones?" Reggie inquired.

"That's a palaeontologist!" corrected Veronica.

"Hi there," the waitress interrupted the awkward situation. "I see we have two new guests. Do you guys want drinks before you order." She cheerfully handed Archer and Reggie menus.

"I'll have whatever you have on tap, Emily," Archer replied, looking at the brunette waitress' name tag. Beth nudged him when he took too long of a look at her chest. "And I'm ready to order. I'm starved!"

"Same," Reggie responded.

The group looked at their menu and Emma took their orders. "I'll be right back with your beers."
