Chapter 4

Which story should I choose?
"The Galoshes of Fortune"
I'm surprised my brother Carmine hadn't taken a lot from Andersen's tales, I thought he collected everything from books he read. I know exactly what I wanted. I opened to the chapter entitled "The Galoshes of Fortune."
I read the part where one of the two fairies started talking about the shoes being able to grant wishes. "...a pair of walking-shoes or galoshes has been entrusted to me, which I am to carry to mankind. These shoes possess the property of instantly transporting him who has them on to the place or the period in which he most wishes to be; every wish, as regards time or place, or state of being, will be immediately fulfilled, and so at last man will be happy, here below."
At first, nothing happened, but then, a flash of light appeared above the book, and there, appeared a black rubber slip-on shoes or galoshes (outer-shoes, or rain jacket for shoes). I did it, I have the power of my mother and brother! My younger sister probably has it too, but she hadn't demonstrate it, we don't get training or schooling for these sort of things. I picked up the outer-shoes, and tried them on. Immediately, I felt the power the shoes has to offer which I didn't have before. With this, I can travel through time or transform to something else like the characters do in the book. Though, the caveat of it all is that all wishes made with these pairs are inherently temporary, they only last as long as the shoes remains on, as in the story.
So what wish should I try??
