Chapter 19 by Shibbar Shibbar

What did he ask of her?

"It's about time I went back."

"Oh," she said, disappointed, "I am sad to hear that."

"Naamah, I don't think he enjoys it here," Belial spoke, "not that we do either as demons. This is not his realm, and I'm sure he now has bad memories of this place."

Esau agreed with her somewhat. This experience scarred him that even years of therapy won't help. With his return to earth feasible and within reach he could think nothing of but getting out of this realm as hastily as possible. "Naamah, though you saved my life, you also took me here in the first place. I hope you don't get offended when I say I never want to see any of this- you, the imp, the crown, this keep, this realm in general- ever again. I don't want to think about it ever again. I don't want to see or hear about a demon until the day I die, and even then I hopefully won't."

"Well, if that's the way you feel." Naamah flicked her hand, and an unreal swirling black portal appeared in the centre of the chamber. "I hope you change your mind about me someday."

Esau picked up the body of his mother in his arms, the dripping black blood causing a mess of his clothes, and stepped through the portal while holding his breath. He was instantly transported to the chamber this all started in, the blood, the bodies, and the remains of the ritual still here. He fell to his knees, dropping the body, and wept. He felt empty inside.

The End
