"Can I skip the alias and use my real name?"

You think it over a moment before deciding that you do have a question. "Uhm... Do I... really need an alias?", you ask the man uncertainly.

He raises an eyebrow at you, apparently having expected plenty of questions but not that one specifically. "What do you mean? Don't tell me you want to use your real name?", he says. You can tell he is confused.

"Could I?", you ask in a soft voice, looking directly at him.

"I don't think so", he smirks. Then he tilts his head slightly, trying to judge your motives. "Is there a specific reason you'd even want to use your real name?"

"I like my name", you say, shrugging your shoulders. "Don't you?"

"I suppose I can see why you'd like it", he answers in a rather tactful way. "But trust me, most porn stars will either take up an alias or change their names once they become popular".

"Not this one", you say defiantly. "Why do you insist I use an alias anyway?"

"You're just an actress for now. You're not a star yet. If you become one, you'll find out soon enough. Tell me, have you ever Googled yourself?", he asks, retrieving his phone with his free hand as if he's going to show you something new. Well alright, you've typed your name into a search engine before. You're all too aware that it is easy to get information about yourself on the internet.

At the moment a search for your own name might only result in a few scattered social media posts or a few cute pictures, but you do imagine that the results would become a lot more spicy if you kept using your own name in this line of work. "People will recognize you", he reiterates as he puts his phone back in his pocket.

You take a deep breath. "Well, maybe I want them to recognize me?", you object. "It will be me doing most of the work, so I'd like to get the credit. Not some fabricated alternate persona".

"This isn't like regular acting or writing a book", he tells you with obvious concern in his eyes. "In porn, it's best to keep things anonymous."

"I want people to like me for who I am.", you answer. "I think using my real name could be part of the charm".

"I really can't recommend it", he says, looking at you as if you've gone crazy. "At the very least consider taking a different surname", he says. "I don't know much about your personal situation, but your relatives might not be keen on having their family name associated with porn".

You think it over and he seems to think the discussion is done. "Any other questions?", he asks.
