Pleasant City

Somewhere in the world existed a quiet little city surrounded by forests and by a huge lake. It was a peaceful and relatively quiet little town, where the people were friendly and hospitable to neighbors and outsiders alike. It was more than a few hours away from the nearest city and wasn't on a main stretch of highway. Like all towns that grew with limited access to the rest of the world, they had their own customs that followed long-standing traditions since its founding. This particular town shared all their women with each other, regardless if they were married, related or foreigner. By principle, any woman of legal age was fair game to any man. If there was a conflict of interest, the men would either take turns or share. Mysteriously enough, as if compelled by some strange power, no woman here had ever rejected any man either, finding delight in whatever was asked or done to them. Of course, each had their preferences and would tell you the truth about the. In fact, all who enter the town's boundaries find themselves becoming just like them. Their offspring help give them power, but not all who share the blood are gifted, some are cursed, some never know and some are killed by adversaries. Its a chess game with pawns moving once every 50 years and then suddenly frenzies of activity over months.
