Defeat is common, in this story where the antagonist is immortal and well-prepared. The vampire queen strings out hope to continue enticing new generations of would-be-heroes into her lair. She plays with her food, letting them think they can win. By building them up, she can break them down all the more. She is a sadist, a domineering queen, who has weaponized past generations of warriors into mindless -spawn. Inside the castle lie perilous traps and dangerous enemies. But perhaps, there is still a way to prevail? If you can maintain your purity, the source of your strength, then anything is possible.
