Bjord is the Guardian of the Shepherd Annette; the pair travel the world under loose guidance by The Church to act as diplomats, spiritual guides, a moral compass, arbiters of disputes, and anything the world needs of them. In this world, magic is both rare and dangerous. In this world, monsters roam the plains and forests. Demons torment small towns. Malign - creatures capable of assimilating victims - could be anyone or anything. Luckily for Annette, Guardians are nearly invincible. Unluckily for Bjord, being a guardian leaves him in constant pain and agony. And yet this pair trusts each other unconditionally and will do nearly anything for each other.
