Also, writing in general leads us to create different characters in a variety of settings, and so encourages us to understand what thoughts and feelings those characters are experiencing from within their frame of reference, which is actually the definition of empathy if you think about it. Thus, to write is to practice our empathy; erotica is no exception to this!
